H&C Shield Crete Epoxy Floor questions

I just moved into my newly built home where I had my builder epoxy my garage floor. He used the H&C stuff which I'm guessing now was a pretty low end product.

Anyway, it looks pretty good BUT I pulled my car in from rain yesterday and where water puddled the floor changed color. As the water dried up the color changed back...is that normal? Basically the epoxy color got slightly lighter anywhere that water puddled for any period of time. After the water dried up and enough time the floor changed back to the original color.

Also... I few drops of oil or something dripped from my wife's car and I tried to wipe it up and most of it came up but some of it appears to have been absorbed and wont come up...

What gives?

you are right it shouldn't do that. I checked their web site, hard to get MSDS info (not a good sign) - appears to be a low end water based epoxy floor system (like those sold in box stores). I think the issue has something to do with the water in the product and not evaporating away completely prior to cross linking. Humidity issue. Just let it sit for a few months and see how it does.

Found this on H&C website about their product:

H&C Shield-Crete is permeable; meaning it allows your concrete to breathe while resisting hot tire pick-up. No induction, or sweat-in time is necessary, just mix and apply. You can pull your car back into the garage in 3 days, while other epoxy kits require 7 days before vehicular traffic.

If the epoxy is permeable I suppose absorbing puddled water is expected which I suppose means the color change might be too...

I don't know... I guess I'll have to wait and see how it holds up, apparently I was too hands off regarding the epoxy product chosen by my builder...

I put the same product on my garage floor 5 years ago. Yes it changes color when wet but without any damage. For the most part oil comes up easy for me. I have found polyurethane will not come up after it dries..lol. I can't wipe up a tire mark from doing a doughnut with a dirt bike although I just tried water. It might come up if I used something more aggressive. Other than that I've been real happy with it. No tire pull up and still looks like the day I applied it.
