H&F PVC Ceiling install questions

I saw somewhere on here a GJ'er installed H&F manufacturing Phase 2 PVC panel on their ceiling and I thought this would be a great alternative to having someone else do drywall.

Drywall would be $2500 mud, taped, and painted

H&F PVC $1400 shipped to my house. DIY install

Heres my question for anyone who has done these or even just corrugated metal, the installation instructions say the corrugations need to follow the slope of my cathedral ceilings. Is this a structural/ strength reason? I wanted to run them horizontally to follow the ceiling joists and use the wood screws right into the joists. Is this a big no no or does it not even matter? I am thinking if I do this I do not need the brackets they want to sell you just plenty of their wood screws and some j channel.

Your thoughts and opinions are welcome. thanks

Is it possible that the corrugate direction indicated in the instructions was intended for use as an exterior roofing product? I would think that for your interior application, they would actually support themselves better in the direction you want to place them (ridges perpendicular to the rafters/joists).

The pictures in the install instructions show an interior and they dont specify for exterior installs. But I was thinking the same thing it would make sense for an exterior install to run them the direction of the slope for rain run off but I dont have that problem with an interior.

probably for strength.

unless you are going to put a screw in every single valley, they will bow away from the trusses mounted horizontally. The strong axis is the long ways or with the flutes.

Fold a piece of paper in half (hot *********) and then try and bend it long ways and short ways. Short ways it will flex and bend a lot easier.
