So I was in the electronics supply store yesterday and stumbled upon this. It seems like it will be a useful tool to have around. Had never seen long locking pliers before.

The idea sounds fantastic,they even look very nice but if you apply to much pressure the jaws twist very badly. I have the HF pair and if you need the extra reach they are very nice; but if you use to much clamping pressure they tend to bend when you start to turn them.

I bet if the peterson co. was still going in Dewit,Neb someone would have thought of that design but alas that will never happen. Sometimes I wonder if the vise grips coming out of china are making a lot of money for the new owners?

I would have thought that by now in 2012 the new vise grip owners using their R&D would have come up with different designs?

HF has a vise grip type design that you can use to remove oil filters,the possibilities are endless for a person with a good imagination.
