Had this Snap On set a long time

So, I've had this Snap On set for many years. I'm thinking its from the mid 60's? The box is a KRA-65B. I've seen the box for sale - never seen a complete set before. I believe this is 95% complete - all Snap On. I've never seen a complete listing of what this set contains. What could it be worth?

id personally pay 2 or 300 for something like that....all its worth to me. i can get other brands for the same. i dont need snap on.

that said, id bet it would go for at least a grand if you got a couple people bidding on it for a collection.....

The collecting Snap-On site will have that set in their mid 60s catalog that you can view. It will show you everything that came with the set.

I like Snap-On stuff from the 60s and earlier. I'm sure that Ebay would be on fire for that set. Several hundred bucks is my best guess, not excluding an anomaly such as a bidding war that could drive it even higher.

Several hundred, as in at leat 500. Some of the vintage general service kits are peaking at 350 400. You could have a gold mine. Post the auction if you needed to list it. I'd like to watch it

If you have even headed people bidding on it, I would say you're in the right range of 400-500 bucks. If you get two or more knuckleheads that, "have to have it" then you can easily expect to knock on the door of high 600s and beyond.

If you take the time to identify every piece, the buyer can decide what, if anything, is missing. By that, I mean sort the sockets by type and photograph each set.

This set looks mint. I think this will sell north of $500 if you take the time to photograph everything carefully.

Looking at completed listings on eBay, I see that just the empty KRA-65B/C boxes go for somewhere between $100 and $250+ depending on condition. I only took a quick look, but it appears that most of them have locks, and that two boxes in similar condition may differ by $75 or more in price.

Thanks for the info. I was curious what it might be worth. I have the lock and keys - they are taking a bath in some WD-40. Sorry - I'm not looking to sell it - I never sell anything. At 55 I still have the tools I purchased when I was 14!

I don't know about $4602, and even though the OP is not selling, but if it was to sell in an auction on on ebay and the listing was done up right with lots of detailed photos of the box and tools and an itemized accounting of everything really well with the lock installed and assuming the sets inside were complete and not engraved with owner's marks or missing (m)any pieces I could easily see the box and everything in it go well north of $1000. Especially so if you get a good bidding war going which wouldn't be surprising. Having an auction that ends on a Fri evening or Saturday during normal hours helps over times when people are more likely to be working / sleeping.

If a bidding war breaks out between collectors there's no telling what the price might end up at. $4602 wouldn't be totally out of the question, but would be pretty epic. I suspect it would never fetch half of that these days even under the most ideal conditions.

All that said, I suspect it might be fetch more overall in auctions of the box and sets individually rather than altogether.
