Best price I've seen....be sure if your shopping for a Hakko, you don't get a copy/fake...

If your ordering, they also have good tip prices..

The Hakko is a great DIYer soldering iron!

Got the iron and 3 tips for $86 shipped. Nice deal! Thanks! I wonder if I'll ever actually solder anything with it.

Thanks for the heads up. I missed it last time. Free shipping is nice too since we don't have Frys in VA. It is currently back ordered, but shows it will ship Feb 10th. I can use my butane irons in the meantime.

I assume Fry's wouldn't sell a fake?

How do these compare to a Weller?

Better than a Weller as this price range.

I have this one from frys. It's an awesome iron. I freaking love it.

Yes, I was referring to fakes being sold on Ebay, they have been on Amazon being sold by third party sallers.

Just wanted to give a "heads-up" for those comparing prices online..

I was raised on Weller, price range ~$100 I would compare this to the D51 series, but the Hakko has better control feed back in the pencil/wand.
Performance, I'd probably compare it more closely to the D1000series (I think the current Weller is D1002), with good feed back (more consistent temp) in both the Hakko & Weller. Their was a bad production run ~three years ago in the D1000 series, but I've heard that's been worked out.

I know it looks like it's made by Fisher Price, but they are nice....
Hope this helps..

I ordered one this time around, but it's apparently out of stock and my orders waiting to be filled.

same as my order 2-3 weeks ago. Not a big deal for me, I was more concerned about getting it for the price. It'll get here when it gets here.
