I missed getting both of these by about 1 minute. I'm not sure of the brand, it stands about 5 ft tall. Didn't measure it, but the drawer depth is probably around 2 ft. Paid 30 for it. The owner wanted to empty it out himself, so I can't pick it up until tomorrow.

The guy also had this bench top drill press..I did ask how much, 'cause I'm not looking for one...but this sure was sweet. If it's still there I might make an offer. Any suggestions on a fair price?..

Also had a old Prentiss vise he wanted 50 for and a Record wood vise for an unknown price. Sorry no pics of those. I only had a few minutes time to spend there. Since I don't really need any of this, I figure if any of it is still there tomorrow, I'll try and make a deal for it.

The Dunlap DP is the lower offering from Sears, I find it odd that it's also branded with the Craftsman name, interesting. It looks to be in great shape, it even has the chrome spindle cover that always goes missing. It doesn't have the optional speed reducer though, so it will only be good for wood working. Metal could be drilled, but not well. How does the table look ?

I think it's from the very early 40's, as it looks similar to my 1941/42 Cman/Atlas model. I think this may be a model 64, perhaps a 74. It's hard to tell without more photos and a measurement of the throat.

I'd say that in this condition, $100-$125 would be the high end if I were selling. As a buyer I'd want to be in the $50- $75 range, but I'd bet he'd be looking to take something in the $75-$100 range.

Anyone else care to offer an opinion on the drill press? How much would the lack of a reducer effect it's value? I could use that as a bargaining point.

is that the original motor or the later 50's style? i'd be in the 40/50 range on it.

Looked again today...It appears to have an original Dunlap motor. Guy wanted 100, I offered 50, he said no. Left my number with him, if he changes his mind.

Got the file cabinet home. Has 16 drawers approx. 18 x 13 x 2.5. Friction slides. Can't find any markings on it.

Congrats on the file cabinet. They're wonderful for sorting the bolts, hardware and parts.

On the Dunlap DP
It doesn't have the optional speed reducer though, so it will only be good for wood working. Metal could be drilled, but not well.

Much of homeowner metal drilling is in the 1/4" and under diameters and a speed reducer isn't necessary for that. For deep holes 1/4"-1/2", then yes.

I'd say that in this condition, $100-$125 would be the high end if I were selling. As a buyer I'd want to be in the $50- $75 range, but I'd bet he'd be looking to take something in the $75-$100 range.

Agree. In Spokane, that's a $75, max.

The $50 Prentiss may have been the bargain you missed, but without dimensions and a photo, we'll never know.
