Was out in the woods yesterday and a guy on 4 wheeler had a hub come off his machine.

One of the guys had an aluminum suitcase box with Halford tools. Had everything and anything in there, little hacksaw, feeler gauges, wrenches, etc.

I looked it up and I guess it's a Brit parts store?? You guys across the pond... fill me in.

It's like Autozone, but with a far larger range of stuff for sale. Their *pro* tools are fairly popular in the UK. I have a some Halfords pliers I bought in 1978 & they are still my "go to" ones :)

Their pro stuff is rebranded Gearwrench level stuff for the most part. I have some of it I keep in a mobile box for on the road. It's not bad, well priced, and comes with a lifetime warranty. I was given a set of their screwdrivers for free when I bought some oil last week, marked made in Germany.

Not sure if the briefcase style kit includes the same tools. If it does, its nice stuff.

Hi:
Halfords gear: well to be honest they look the part, but really only suited for the weekend hobby DIY type job, not for everyday use,
There pricing, me and others have said is a little high for what they are,
I have had a bunch of Halfords spanners, sockets etc, I have split 3 sockets, bent all the spanners, broke two ratchets. and there breaker bar snapped in half, whilst undoing a simple wheel nut, all these were less than 3 months old,
again they look fantastic, nice polished chrome, and they feel nice,
Halfords are a store that sale evrything from car parts, roof racks, tools to cycle gear. they will buy in any manufactured budget tool that meets there basic spec and put there name on it,
what I am saying is they are not a tool manufacturer,
personally, I would not buy tools from them again, but that is My view,
