I have opportunity to buy a NIB Hamilton 75,000 btu hanging furnace. My shop, located in extreme southern Illinois (45 minutes to Kentucky), is 36x26 with R19 on walls and R30 in my vaulted ceiling with a 5/12 pitch that is 16' at the peak. I'm also going to install two big ceiling fans to help move warm air from high to low. Is the unit big enough? Any known problems with the Hamilton unit? Is the price right?

It should be adequate but may depend on other factors like windows, service doors, other cold entrance areas and proper location of heater.
I'm using 75k in my 28 x 38 x 10.5 with very good results.

Havent heard of the Hamilton but looks like Northern Tool has discontinued that product.
They are owned by Winchester and manufactured by Adams.
Seems HD has them for $800+. :wtf:

Heats my 32 x 36 attached garage perfectly fine. R15 in the walls 24 on center studs, maybe 6 inches of blown in on a 9 ft ceiling. 1 small window, 1 16 ft wide R11 insulated overhead door and 1 8 ft wide overhead door. I could probably get by with a 45,000 BTU but I like the fact that I can kick on the heat and go from 35-40 to 65 in 20-25 minutes. I'm not sure on the brand but it seems to me from what I've seen that most of them are built by the same company with a different sticker.

75,000 BTU should be more than enough to heat that space. My 36'x48' with 16' vaulted ceiling, R23walls, R30 ceiling, 1-14'x18' & 1-14'x16' insulated OHD, 4 skylights and 3 DH windows, and is being heated with an 85k Reznor, no problem.
