Hammer id needed

I picked this little (3 1/2 oz) up at a sale today, and wondered if anyone knew what it was for.
The striking surface, is smooth, round, and about 3/* dia.

Something wrong with your pic, it wont go up from the thumbnail but I think it's a body/metal working hammer (possibly for finer work like copper/silver)

Here is a link to a better picture. The head is only 2 3/4" long. Small and light for body work. Maybe for tiny dents?
It appears to be a fairly old hammer.

Interesting. I was expecting the tip to be rounded over, not flattish like that. I'm still with soft metal forming though.

No markings on it?

it's a body hammer with one side cut off, the reason they did that is to be able to get it in a fender well and tap a ding out. I can't think of the brand right now I'll wake up in the middle of the night or ?????

It sure is small if it's a body hammer. Plus the business end is flat. I think body hammers have a convex head.

I get either WARMf USA or WAPILFI USA or some variant, but it could also be "Made in USA" simply beat to death...

War Dept USA? I know some brand names like Fairmont did not mark hammers for the Military, just Made in USA. Think I may have a hammer like that???

A tack hammer maybe? Is one face of the hammer magnitic?

That maybe a leather workers hammer. Shoe makers may have used that in the old days for working on saddles.

I think the others might be on to something it does look like one side was cut off possibly to work in a confined area.

FrankLee, I've seen a body hammer just like that on eBay a while back and I believe the maker was Warner. I've never heard of that company though.
