Hello,
I was finishing up a box from an auction last night and ended up with a couple of items I'm not quite sure about and not sure where to start.
The first item is this dangerous looking little hammer. Anyone tell me what this is used for and what it's called?

I dunno but my buddy just showed me pics of a "hammer museum " he visited in Alaska
last week. Pretty sure that guy would know. I was in awe of all the hammers in the place.
might be for splitting shakes and nailing them

I'm doing the same thing. This tote I bought for $50 had a Matco Pittman arm puller and Snapon transmission seal installer and pullers in the bottom.

Reminds me of a leather stitching setup, perhaps the end is used to mark the leather for stitch holes?

(1) Bushing hammer maybe for stone work?????

(2) Something that GJ member Winlinmac would either use to break up his city concrete/or use on his car for suspension work?

(3) Leather work? Stone sculpting? Batman belt tool ? Meat tenderizer hammer?

(4) whatever it is it belongs in the vintage tool section (a very cool hammer).

It was a fun treasure box. Also $50 just because 1 other guy say much of what I saw and wanted it.
2 Yankee push drills (1 a North Bros Bell Systems) Both NOS
1 Really nice Yankee small ratcheting screwdriver NOS with bits
Boxes of NOS Nicholson extra slim taper files with cool old paper labels
2 saw sets (1 Keen Kutter)
Several other interesting items. Just a small box, typical auction flat. The sale was just bizarre. Hundreds of Saws, Planes, Hammers (literally 100's of each) and tons of odds and ends. All belonged to an old man and his wife when alive.

I think you're on to something here. After posting the question it dawned on me that the collector really liked shoe cobbler tools. I'm thinking it has something to do with that.

Sorry about that. Seriously, though, it looks like a weapon (but you said it's little, so maybe not). My best guess is it's an antique meat tenderizer. Here's one that's kind of similar:

Yeah, but the delicate handle would make hard hits problematical. I'm really hoping someone will know.
