Hey guys, just picked up this hammer I’ve never seen before. Anyone know anything about it? It is marked 2 and Los Angeles.

Also I can’t tell if it is clad in copper or if the coloring on it is just rust/patina

You qualify for a "You ****" award, if that's a Plomb. In the 1920s, Plomb made hammers in Los Angeles and these hammers are as scarce as hen's teeth. Have a good look and see if there are any markings, such as: "Plomb T.M. Co."

Catalog F from the 1920s shows a #2 brick hammer resembling yours.

I doubt that it's copper clad. I found a Plomb hammer that was a similar color. It was just 100 years of rust. Have a look at the Prospector's pick I cleaned up with Evapo-rust in this thread. See post #17. Your hammer will cleanup nicely.
