Hammered paint

I am looking to replicate a hammered paint finish in the light green or light blue common to old shop tools.

The problem is finding those colors in spray cans is really expensive as it seems to be special order and a whole case has to be ordered. yeah not gonna do that.

Anyone have experience replicating hammered paint using say rustoleum brush on paint? Or do you have more information about how the effect is produced? I understand it is just a metallic paint that is intentionally fish eyed or solvent popped.

RustOleum has a hammered light blue that's pretty common, and not overly expensive. I don't know about UT, but I've found it in all of the big box stores here.

I wasn't trying for a heavy hammered finish on this vise, but it's enough to get an idea of the color (I later replaced the swivel locks with the correct partial hex locks).

Saw that but you have to order $25 worth of **** to get that price.

It's weird that every hardware store within like 50 miles only carries silver or black or brown. I wish I could find a can or two in a store!

I am wondering if I can mix some green and silver out of a brush on can and make myself a light green or blue.
