I have spent alot of time sorting through the Tools from the old world thread. I was on a German body hammer kick not too long ago; Monte posted his fathers old Gedore Set and Ive seen a few others floating around the board. Infatuation is a fine word for this instance. Those German (few other COO aswell) made metal working hammers and dollies seem really nice!

Brands that Ive seen with nice hammers- Picard, Elora, stahwille, Sykes Pickavant, Gedore, Fretz,...Please add to this list! If I cant own them I'd like to see them atleast...

This site is nutty...

I don't see MOB/Peddinghaus listed there. :)

Peddinghaus

MOB Head down to around page 7

Wow, yea thats what i'm talking about! I how prevalant the long slender spoon dollies are in thease sets! I haven't had much luck finding anything of that sort in the states for anything short of a fortune as it was old and "rare"

I like Peddinghaus's take on that Proto 1427 style body hammer.

Bump...Can anyone give me some insight as to the quality of thease tools? I'd like to add a few to my collection. How do they stack up against Snap-on or martin in terms of balance, design and finnish?

Pictures?

No experience with these Tools. It looks as if they have taken successful designs and copied them quite nicely. If the material quality is there, they may be worth trying. I do have to say that the few Turkish made items I have across in the Auto repair business, have been of good quality. I've found a few BMW and Ford parts that had "made in Turkey" labels on them. I have a great idea, you be the first and we will follow your lead.

I know, those turkish made hammers look great! Rekon they are machined, very interesting. I might just bite the bullet on the peddinghaus or the elora 1427 looking job, but Not for a little bit. I'll have to muster some strength before dropping 100$ on a single hammer of unknown quality. I'm a poor intern at the moment.

Woah.......Now that price is a bit extreme. I didn't see the price list. I can't see them being worth that. Maybe, but I doubt it. Hell, I'll make one to your specs for that cost. I have 10's of old forged hammer heads just wating to be turned into new custom Body hammers. I've made them for my own use and a few others. I can you some pics if you'd like.

Send me a message and include a description and specs on what you're looking for and I will see what I have. Yea I know the saying on the GJ, " no pictures, then it didn't happen " I'm just not a guy who thinks about before, during and after photos while I'm working. Just the way I roll.

Does anyone have an US source to purchase Picard, Sykes Pickavant, and Peddinghaus?

I've used the Sykes and Peddinghaus hammers before and they are of very nice quality, Skyes has a Snap-on feel to them.

Those picard blockers look nice and are so much cheaper than Fournier Enterprises offerings.
