Comfort plays a big part. Otherwise they are about the same.

Reduce the internal weight a bit if you can. Spares or loose hardware add up fast in a carry box.
Mine at the shop gains weight weekly. Time to tip it again soon and weed out the junk.

What about a small folding handtruck Or chain a full size handtruck to the outside of the gang box? I work in a plant that encompasses 5 acres and I think carrying a toolbox would get old very fast unless it was relatively light.

Ditto to that thought... ^^^ The foldable ones are decent.. even the ones found at the suitcase store.....

What about turning it into a dog box? Small casters mounted either to a piece of plywood or directly to the box then a long handle of some sort to pull it along.

Great idea. The problem with thinning out the tool collection is I always find I need the tools I left out within a day or two. Last time I weighed my toolbox it was just over 600lbs. Now I look at it as a workout and not just pushing a box around the plant.

Ecotec, what do you do for work or work on? I have tried to whittle down my most used tools to just what could fit into a large pouch or a small tool box but I was making way too many trips back to the shop for something I did not have.

Last time I weighed it mine was just about 400lbs.
I roll it all over a hospital. Not the lightest but it's not horrible either.

19x6x6 Crown top craftsman. Weighs 6 1/2 pounds. What do you think? I just listed it on ebay, I have about a dozen of these small boxes in the way, decided to clear them out.

I have two of these, I use them for road boxes in my veichles. You can fit a good amount of stuff in there.

I've got a couple of these (and my father snatched my "new one" back in the 1980s while I was away at college)..and they're amazing for capacity.....
