Hi all,
Is there such a thing as a hand held scroll saw, much like a jig saw? Or, are there scroll saw blades one could put in a jig saw. Haven't been able to find either.

Thanks!

If you are talkig about a powered saw, no.

Scroll saw blades, (And coping saw blades for that matter) require support at both ends and rely on tension to keep them from deforming in use, and are best set up in a coping saw frame for "cut on pull", just as a scroll saw cuts on the down (Pull) stroke.

A Jig saw has a much heavier blade as it is a powered reciprocating blade, and IMO is the direct ancestor of the Sawzall.

"Coping saw" frames have been built with deep throats for "scroll saw" use, to shallow frames for jewelers to use. The most common frames are basically as deep as the blade is long.
