Hand planes

Anyone have any experience with Freud hand planes? Have a lead on what looks like equivalents to a #5 and #7. Are they good for wood working or are they 'toys'?

Based on this, they seem to be Stanley Brazil made. Without seeing pix of yours, no clue. The frog on those have a very different face from what I'm used to seeing on a Stanley but I don't have any of the '50s '60s era.

A Stanley number 5 should be 15 inches a number 7 should be 22 inches. The boxes look like late 50s early 60s. Seems the numbering in the ad is just zeros in front of the Stanley number.

what are they asking for them? They are probably ok planes
Woodworking hand tools SHARP is more important than the name on the tool. Now how long it stays sharp is a different story.

I would only buy it if it were dirt cheap.
Freud was only really good at making router bits and saw blades, and maybe drill bits.
Anything else I’ve seen that they sold was usually just rebranded, and the items usually seemed not to have the best fit or finish.

The planes are part of a shop closeout due to medical issues. The sale is being conducted by a friend. No prices listed. Offers accepted if I understand correctly.

I passed on the hand planes - time and distance. By the time I could get to them (SC to NC), they were gone.
