I have a question about any of the cordless band-saws, How close to flush can you cut something with one? For example if I was cutting off something sticking out of a concrete wall, how long would the stump be?

It really depends how far the blade is inset on whatever saw you're using is. On a Milwaukee deepcut probably about 3/4" at the minumum. There is a work stop that rests against what your cutting. The saw will chatter and jump if what your cutting is not tightly up against it. It sticks out and can get in the way. It's the piece to the right of the opening. You'd be better off using a sawzall.

Thanks, I'll have to keep using the sawzall. I'm glad I didn't buy a bandsaw and find that out the hard way.

I own Trajan 150S portaband saw and I found the saw very useful. Porta bands are a lot nicer than sawzall especially if you'll be cutting steel .Sawzall is much more versatile. But of course, these two tools have different functions . Between the two, Sawzall is not the right tool for all around general fab, IMO.

A grinder with a cut off wheel would probably work best for the situation you were talking about.
