I am relatively new to the GC and have been picking up a few things from the classifieds when I see something I want or need. I always pay within 30 minutes of confirming with a seller and then send a PM to the seller as soon as my pymt was made, and the seller has had me package within a few days. Easy and no issues. My last transaction in the classifieds has not gone so smoothly. I exchanged PM's with the seller back and forth until we agreed on a price etc. I then made my pymt through paypal as always and then sent a PM stating that I had just made the pymt. This was on the 2nd. As of today I have heard nothing back from this seller and have sent followup PM's with no luck. I can understand not getting something sent out on time due to family issues etc, but 10 days with no contact at all is a bit much. The seller has been a member since early 2009 and has well over 2,000 posts that have been informative and not rude in anyway. I have left the sellers name out respectively but my question is, should I pull my pymt from paypal or wait it out and see if the seller contacts me? Thanks

How much are we talking about? As a member who has used the classifieds A LOT, I know I appreciate it when people list all experiences, good or bad. Anything to help out the next person avoid a bad transaction or enter a good transaction.

Has the seller been logging in? Did you check with PayPal to see if there is tracking info available? <---- assuming you didn't gift the payment. Obviously sometimes life gets in the way but you need to protect yourself and if the seller isn't communicating you need to simply start a dispute wit pp. Getting into someone's pocketbook generally brings people around.

I noticed the last time the seller logged in was the 8th, but I had sent them a PM asking about tracking info before then. I looked at my paypal and could not see any tracking info. The amount was under $100 but its still money either way that I worked hard for. I guess tomorrow I will have to start the paypal transaction resolution. I really hate to do things like this without talking to person first but I dont know what else to do. I didnt use the gift method so hopefully I get refunded but would rather the seller contact me and work it out. I won't post the sellers name unless paypal has to refund me my money and even then if the seller talks with me I may skip that if there was good cause for the issues.

So I went ahead and opened a dispute with paypal first thing this morning. The suggested that I open the dispute and give the guy a few days to respond and if they didnt then we could escalate it. I opened the dispute about 9:30am and I got message from the guy about noon, stating that the items would be shipped out today. I am still gonna wait until the items are in my hands before I do anything else, but I guess the thought of losing a few dollars motivated him.

Please keep us posted, and the seller's name. I'd like a heads up with who I deal with, also if it's a good explanation!

After buying something on another forum, I realized that I should have handled by purchase differently.

The issue with dealings like this is most of the conversation is via pm's. You should really make sure some of the transaction messages are posted in the listing just so there is history. That way others can see how it progresses later on instead of you having to dump information after it all goes bad. If the seller takes a week to reply, it is for the world to see as it's happening. Just my 2 cents.

As I stated on monday, about 3 hours after I started the paypal dispute the seller contacted me and said he would ship out that day and send me a tracking# same day. His reasoning was that he only shipped out on Mondays and had missed the previous Monday and that he had not been on the GJ for a bit. I have no problem with only shipping Mondays and then missing a Monday, but their profile states that they were on the GJ on the 8th which is 2 days after Monday. Now I dont know if their inbox was full and they received my message, but one would think that they should send me something to let me know that they didnt get shipped out on time and it would be delayed. With all this said I can forget about the issues and be happy but as of today I have not received a tracking # and no further contact.

Just leave the dispute open until you get the package, or until the time is up and then escalate it and get your money back. He will need to provide tracking.

Update: I got my items in the mail today. I guess he did get them shipped off Monday. In the end the transaction went ok except for the fact I had no communication with him for 11 days.

There is no excuse to do business that way. I sell on E bay all the time. If it is the postal flat rate they pick up form the house. UPS will also pick up from my house. They go down my street almost every night and if not mine a block or so over. I have not looked to see if FedX picks up. I think they do in my area. Kinko's drop off for FedX is only 2 1/4 miles form me and so is the post office. I have an account with both. I get the weight and print the amount out on the computer along with the label. It goes on my credit card. I take it out when I here the postal truck go down the other side of the street. My office is on the front of the house and I can see and hear them coming. I leave a note for them to pick up on the front porch if I am out back working in the yard. I don't believe in tiping but I always take care of the two delivery persons on this route. After 33 years in the same place they know me better than I do myself.
I am always sending off blue prints. Southern California is so large and the traffic is so bad I will not drive 40 miles to deliver them. It is 100 miles by 100 miles of wall to wall people. The traffic jams start at 2:30 pm in all directions. LOL

Pay Pal does get things moving with many who don't want to be honest. It sounds like the person had issues and was avoiding you.

Glad you got your goodies.
