Good afternoon!
I recently acquired this old(ish) hand plane; it was not something I had seen before, so I grabbed it. I have had a dickens of a time trying to ID the thing.

The overall length = ≈ 14.06" (size is in the 'jack' plane range)
Weight (as is) = 6.242 pounds (heavy for its size!)
Iron (cutter) width = ≈ 2-3/16"

The iron bears the Sandusky Tool stamping, but I have not seen any full steel planes from Sandusky ever being offered. And the only length of the jack plane I have seen offered was 16".

The rear tote, I believe might be original. The front knob, I am almost certain is a replacement.

Based on what I am seeing, I am thinking that the iron is a replacement and the entire plane is another make. This does not have a lateral lever, nor a height (depth) adjustment wheel. I do not see any markings (stamping or otherwise) that would indicate a make or size. No patent dates. Nothing on lever cap.
The sole is cast steel - that much is obvious.

If anyone happens to have any insight on the ID of this plane, I would be thrilled to hear it!
Thank you!
