Been using it for both compound and thinset for a few years now. I too wish I'd found it sooner.

Yep found them a few years ago at menards. Have a few around the shop now. Still remember trying to use a taping knife or trowel holding it sideways in the bucket trying to scoop out the last bit of mud and making a huge mess. Then found something so simple that makes it so easy.

yes, and inevitably you get compound stuck to your forearm, work your *** off to get that little bit of compound in the bottom of the pail etc. . this scoop makes getting the material out of the bucket so easy

I use silicone spatulas retired from kitchen service. But that scoop can certainly pick up a lot more in one shot.
