I've been using this for about 4 years and thought that maybe others would find it useful. I took an old vise and bolted it to an old brake rotor from a 1/2 ton truck. It is heavy enough to stay where I need it when holding things on a welding table. The only modification was to shorten the vise handle so it can be turned without hitting the table. It can be moved easily enough to other locations when needed. I've used it on my truck's tailgate and taken it to a work site. It could come in handy for many fabrication projects, wherever you need to hold something.
