Sorry for the dumb newby post, but... I am looking for the best way to hang a 200 btu reznor at my 17 foot peak... This thing weighs 180+ lbs. I was looking at building an angle iron frame screwed to the 2x6 roof joists. Anyone have better ideas, or better yet a picture or two of how you mounted yours?

thank you,
Thor

Angle iron, securely attached to the joists, should work fine. I assume you will use threaded rod or similar from the angle iron to the heater. You can of course, use multiple threaded rods put end to end with coupling nuts designed to join threaded rods together. If you already have angle iron, or find that cheaper, that too will work.

I don't think he wants to hang the heater that high, but in the middle/peak of the building, the attachments would be. I thought the same thing, but figured he intended to have it hanging below this level on angle iron frame or rods, etc..

Thanks Guys, and sorry I meant 200,000 btu. I want the top of it 10-12 feet up so that is quite a drop. I've seen them hung with threaded rod, and on pipe, but I wasn't happy with either of them for the amount of drop. I will probably make a frame tying into the wall and roof joists, just want to see what others have done.

thank you,
Thor
