Just finished dropping a new metal ceiling in my shop and now it is time to install new air lines. I have been searching the internet to find hangers. I have found plumbers strap and plastic J hangers. What I am looking for is more of a bow tie look. I found 2 at the local Menards. Went to the next closest Menards and they have none. Just searched Lowes.com and nothing. Any ideas?

It has been a number of years since I mounted my black iron lines, but as memory serves the clamps came from Grainger. Mine are mounted on the walls about 10 ft up. The are secured to the walls with a single lag screw. They are (were) available for 3/4 and 1/2 pipe.

1 inch black iron weighs much more than thin wall conduit. The hangers I was talking about are shown on the grainger link a few posts back (pipe straps). Does your ceiling have firring strips (under the sheetrock) running perpendicular to the truss beams? If so you will have great flexibility surface running. I prefer to use small 2x4 blocks to as anchor points on walls and ceilings. This positions the pipe away from the wall/ceiling and provides clearance for unions, Ts, and elbows.

EDIT: Oops, dropped metal ceiling, forget the firring strip idea.

Just got back from Lowes. Picked up all 7 they had in stock. Going to have to find some elsewhere. I guess it is a place to start. I got 2 1/2 1/4 in lag screws for the ceiling and 1 in for the header. Black pipe was free.
