Hanging Halogen Work Light

I've had this hanging light for ~15 years; originally purchased it at Menards. I can't seem to find anything like it anymore - it is my favorite garage light.

2 halogen bulbs - 300w each. I'd be happy with 150 or 300 or 500w in the new fixture.

Getting ready to hire an electrician to come out and wire up a bunch of lights, everything else in the garage is planned, but really want to get one more of these for over the workbench - but can't find it anywhere.

Anyone have a source?

I wanted the same thing to cut some of the chill out of my unheated workspace. Found this product which has dropped off the inventory :-(

Maybe it's dropped off the inventory because people got tired of fattening the power company's bottom line. Halogen is just incandescent on steroids, but if you really want one/some try Habitat for Humanity's ReStore, they may get some in.

If you cannot find more of the halogen lights, may I suggest you try 4-foot T8 fluorescent fixtures, with 'daylight' bulbs. As I get older, I find I need more light to work in the shop and these have been a life saver for me.

I'm spoiled. Electricity is pretty cheap here. I don't waste it, but I am equally concerned elsewhere.

The rest of the garage will be getting fluorescent fixtures. I 100% agree on needing more light. Using these over my workbench vs using fluorescent is like driving a Ferrari on a racetrack vs driving the same racetrack in a Taurus. Hot, fast, expensive, and **** vs. comfortable, slow, economical, and alone.

Today I noticed Atwoods has a 4' overhead halogen light on sale for $16.99. It has 2 150watt bulbs & one 300 watt. I thought they would be good over the workbench in winter? Anyone else ever tried these?

Does the fixture work? bulbs are still readily available. I have two wall mounted 500w halogen fixtures. Problem is the bulb mounting and contacts get cooked and I have had to disassemble them and lightly glass bead the pieces and reassemble the lights. I have changed the bulbs about twice in the past 14 years. They are what I turn on when I won't be in the shop long or don't need a lot of light.
