Hanging Heater

Totally newbie here. Appreciate any help or advice.

I just finished my 30x40x14 pole shed that is insulated (batt/blown) and finished with interior tin already. My builder failed to put in some studs for me to hang my forced air heater in my corner so my HVAC guy is having issues and wondering if you have advice.

I’ve got 8’ on center trusses so hanging it from the ceiling there’s not enough to tie to as is. I can’t really climb in the crawl space with my physical abilities to build something for attachment points. Heating guy won’t do it and the builder isn’t going to come back either.

ideas??

leaning toward just switching plans to a radiant tube and won’t have the issue as I can run it along and hit multiple truss points to attach it to. But didn’t want to go that route.

2x or some unistrut on the surface of the ceiling. It's surprising they couldn't figure this out right away?

It's not really related to the question but I would much rather have a tube heater than forced air.

That was my initial impression but he said with 8 foot gap it’s too far and would sag in the middle from the weight.

Where are you? Could you hire a neighbor or local handyman to build whatever you need in the attic?

If it helps, I have a similar size Morton building with metal interior, and a 20' radiant tube heater running down the center. It's not as good as in-floor heat, but it works well enough, and I'd prefer it to a hanging gas heater. I have one of those in the house garage and it works, but is noisier when running, and the heat isn't as even.

A couple runs of 1-7/8" unistrut will hold it just fine. Your HVAC is not well informed or lazy. I have hung many shop heaters in similar situations with unistrut.

If nothing else, run two lengths of strut and hang the heater closer to the one rafter.

I installed a horizontal furnace in my shop. I have it hanging on four ready-rod (all thread) I have the HVAC tools so I made the duct.
this system works really well. Our temperature today is minus 10c. I have the thermostat set to 2C. I installed a large ceiling fan to keep the air, in the shop, circulating. So far, after 32 years, no frozen pipes.

OP doesn't state "how big of a hanging heater".
I would span with Uni-Strut, if he is talking about a Modine or Big Maxx
