Found myself on Pinterest this afternoon killing time. I like the looks of some of these lights but the nicer looking ones are sometimes insanely expensive. Do you suppose the heat from a shop light would be too much to build something like this around one?

I want more light than a typical led strip light gives off.

Maybe this is a better example.

Now I see

What fixture are you thinking of using?

What do you mean by "more light"? Every (decent) LED strip/bar I've bought has been almost blinding. Pick your lumens and color temp and go wild. Hell get the remote control and have purple mood lights

Maybe not this specific one but similar. I am thinking 2 of these with a wooden case in the kitchen, each 4' long, would look better than the typical can or surface mount fixture. I want m so want to be able to light up the room with them, so they aren't just going to be accent lights.

Based on the ones I've used that should be fine. Try to leave the end with the driver open on top so any heat can dissipate

If even a little airflow near driver, I think you'd be fine. The pictures seem to suggest fixtures in the 25 watt range. I would be too concerned about heat and drivers until I got nearer 50 watts. Still would not seal it.
