hanging lights from purlins

I remember seeing on here a year ago a really slick little clamp/bracket to hang lights from Z shaped purlins in a steel building. Now that I have access to a scissor lift its time to hang my lights but I can't find the link to those clips. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and post a link? If not how to you guys attach your 4' LED costco lights to purlins?

Thanks,
Eric

My lights had chains for each end and each chain had some metal hooks, I just bent the hook close and hung mine on the purlin, no chance for them to fall, IMHO

Beam clamps too. I made some of the Zhook kind in the link above. You can add perforated strap to change elevations too. I have a few bean clamped up to rafters too and some hanging down from strap. It really helps brightness a lot to lower them. Chains work too.

I've always used V hangers and chain, with self drilling screws and a washer holding it to the purlin.

Although since they are those costco lights the best place for them might be back at the store...

And of course you remember from the plans for your building that you are not to hang anything from the bottom flange of the purlins. Right. Use the web only for attachment.

I was actually thinking about a self tapper and a washer or maybe a cable clamp to grab the eye of the hanging cable.

I don't understand the comment about these lights being junk, the thread here on GJ seems to give them pretty high marks.

Cosco... Lights... Quality...

There is no way that I would use lights of that quality level as primary lighting due to the time it takes to properly mount them. I only wanted to mount our lights once! Don't need the aggravation of worrying about lighting problems 16+ feet in the air...

Which is why we used commercial grade high bay 4 lamp T8 fixtures, suspended by chain. Premium Maxlite lamps, US ballasts.

I bent plate in to a hanger about 3 inches wide to hang fans, simply hangs on the purlins.
I have all cord and plug, have a scaffold and once in a while even though I don't care for another chore fix or move a light. Even ran another switch wire up most pipes so it was not a deal to change or put in 2 recepts on some or even split a couple. Was nice to be able to make some all plug in changes. Did one a while back, had 2 switches and it was a pain for 2 lights I wanted to come on anyway, just moved the plug.
