I bought two Lithonia 1284GRD RE's from Home Depot. The link is below. My garage has a drywalled ceiling. I plan on hanging these and running junction boxes above them (in the garage attic) to connect to other existing lights. I have also removed the plugs and made a hole for a nema clamp connection in the fixture so I can hard wire them. My question is for the romex coming out of the ceiling and down to the lamp. Does it need to be in conduit? Also, is there some grommet or other device people like to use when passing romex through drywall. Finally, if no conduit is necessary, do I just wrap the wiring down one of the hanging chains.

Thanks for the help.

You shouldn't use Romex just poking through the dry wall for the connecting wire to a hanging fixture. You need to have a ceiling box at each light and use a cover plate with a center knockout with a stress relief cord connector and use a piece of SO cord to the fixture.
