Just wanted you guys to see what you think about my idea or if there's a different approach that I could possibly take.
Got the building spray foamed a few weeks ago and they gave me a lot more than what I paid for. I have approximately one to 2 inches of foam covering the upright post, and just as much foam in the cavity between the posts. Instead of trying to shave all this foam off and make it nice and even with the post and losing R value in the process, I wonder how this idea will pan out to hang metal siding on the wall.
Plan is to cut 1” metal conduit 2”-3” long and sandwich it between a 2x4 and metal uprights then install a self tapping screw or bolt through the 2x4, conduit and post as this will give me a solid platform to mount the metal sheets too.
