Hanging Mr Heater

I bought one of these and now need to hang it. I have a low shed roof, so need to allow for roof pitch. I was thinking of something along the line of track similar to that used in sliding barn doors, and different length allthread for hangers.
Can anyone see a problem with this?
Secondly , does anyone know if they make small "track" and where a guy could get it?

I've read some of the other thread here about hanging heaters but haven't heard of this idea,any input is appreciated.

I'm in the same boat........just have to sit down at Barnes & Noble and catch up on some reading to properly set it up.....gas....electric..........even in here there are great ideas to embellish on.....hehehehe

Nice photos and set up Dipper! I've been trying to figure out how to mount mine too. I want to set it at an angle like you did. What did you use to secure the struts to the ceiling joists? 3/8" lags?

I see you have nut top and bottom at heater, any reason? I had planned on using 2 at bottom 1 as a jam nut.

I would mash the bottom thread so the bottom nut can't come off if it vibrated loose. Either that or some very strong Locktite. It isn't like you are about to check the tightness of the hangers every few months, so why take a chance that it might come loose.
I would also suggest that you install an electrical shut off switch down low where you can turn it off for service, etc..

Last thing I need to do before insulating and sheetrocking is run the pipe for my future Mr. Heater. What size pipe are you guys using and what thread size should I leave exposed outside for the propane tank connection?

Well there is more pictures on here if you guys search my username, and pics on my photobucket link in my sig.

The lower part section consists of a 3/8-16 nut, 3/8-16 to 1/4-20 reducing threaded spacer and a 1/4-20 x 1/2" bolt. The threaded rod is 3/8-16, the holes in the heater mounting bracket are clearanced for 1/4-20. The threaded spacer allows small adjustment on the 3/8-16 rod, then it can be jammed down with the 3/8-16 nut. The 1/4-20 bolt with washer go up into the threaded spacer and secure the heater.

Welcome aboard! You've got a lot of reading to do, there is a ton of info on here. I didn't run propane so can't help you much there.
