I didn't know where to put this as there's no "hardware" section, but i have a 3/8" thick piece of 36" x 35" tempered glass i'd like to use as a gate to go with the surrounding glass panels at my stairwell. You can't drill tempered glass so they'd have to support the weight of the glass clamped or supported top and bottom. The hinges i bought that i thought were clamp style require drilling. Does anybody know of any solutions?

I did a smattering of glass doors in my DIY home build, and yes the glass had pre drilled or notched cutouts for the hinges.

There is maybe "shower" clamp hinges that may work. But my search finds they all have screws through the glass.

If you cant find true clamp hinges - do you have enough space leeway to use the aluminum channels common for retail storefronts? Google aluminum storefront door frame. Here are some (pricey) door rails for top and bottom: https://www.dkhardware.com/door-rails_ZC4938M0P1.html seems like the price of getting a new glass with the holes needed.

There are 'no drill' 'patch pivot hinges' but they require a top mounting for the upper hinge. not really suited for a gate. I think for your application you will need new glass with cutouts for the hinges.

Don't ask.
Wish I could help. BTW: I am getting ready to go buy some adhesive to reattach the liftgate widow to the hinges on my SUV. Apparently a somewhat common problem as the adhesive used by the manufacturer fails. I'll probably try urethane windshield adhesive recommended on several forums.
