I picked up this 10” sliding compound miter saw for $85 bucks with a coupon. Has awesome reviews. My old delta 10” miter saw wasn’t able to miter 45* on larger baseboard trim so I needed the capability of the sliding.

Anyways can someone tell me what these 2 screws are for or what each one does. I understand one is probably for depth if you don’t want to cut completely through but why is there 2 side by side.

I believe the black screw is for full blade depth stop, ie how far past the base and into the slot the blade will dip. Make sure not to bottom out the blade on the base housing, ideally set at just below the deck for a slider.

The silver screw is your non full depth adjustment, for doing dado type cuts, etc.. and has the flip out tang for flipping back to full depth.

Be careful with the guard arm! I got 4 cuts out of mine and it broke. I returned it and ended up getting the Admiral. No problems so far.

thats a good price, what coupon did you use with it? I just looked on an HFT app and they have the non-sliding one for 79 but would like to get the sliding one like you have.

I really want to try a cheap saw like that, but just cannot bring myself to not fantasize about the bosch glide saw. Hmmmm.....I could buy 7-8 of the HF saws for one Bosch.
