I have it as my primary toolbox. Nothing spectacular, but I needed something cheap and this fit the bill. I have no quality complaints. I painted the handles and eventually bought a second intermediate chest cheap on ebay for some more storage. I think they come out with a $150 coupon every once in a while for this box. That must be what I paid, but I don't remember as it was two years ago.

I have this box setup at home for my woodworking, plumbing tools and other odd-n-ends. It is alright with no complaints.

None of the three boxed will be keyed the same though.

Isn't that an easy fix though? Like taking the locks to the locksmith to get them keyed alike for about 10? I dunno that's why I am asking. I do know, that you can do it with other like cman boxes.

I don't know anything about that box, but I do know a bit about the HF key situation.

I bought an end box from HF for cheap (someone had locked the keys inside). So, I drilled the lock out once I got it home and called HF customer service, to get a new lock sent to me. They didn't charge me a dime.

The HF lock is like nothing I've ever seen (and my dad was a locksmith). It is sort of a 'christmas-tree-shaped key. Other than that, the body of the lock looked like any other cheap desk or office cubicle lock. (which might work for getting them all keyed alike, if you have a cheap source for those locks).

That's a long story to get to the point that there were several options to order, so I had to talk to a specialist. There were 'multi-lock' options available (i.e. they would send you just one lock or a set of 6 locks). I assume the set of six locks would be keyed alike.

So, if you get more than one HF cabinet and you want them keyed alike, I would recommend calling their customer service dept. They will likely charge you a little, but you could have them all keyed alike.

I'd stay away from that. Cheap piece of sh/t if you ask me. :(

^Agreed. I'd just as soon have no toolbox than that one.

Their 26" box setup would be much better. If money is a real factor, look for something used. I don't have much trouble finding used 26" Cman boxes in decent shape for $200 or less.

when I was looking for my first toolbox I looked at that one when they had it on sale for $150, and I remember thinking to myself that I wouldn't pay half of that for it. I couldn't believe how flimsy it was. I don't own it so maybe one of these other guys knows better, maybe it was just a really poorly assembled display model but I remember being highly disappointed.

now this one I would really consider picking up:

I just had a coupon for it for $289 but I just got a craftsman ball bearing heavy duty bottom/intermediate/top for right around $300 a few months ago on sale

I know everyone likes the 13 drawer roller cart, but its too big to get in my toy hauler. So I was checking this one out, where i can take the top box off when i go racing.

Thoughts? Ill use the 20% off coupon too..

Every one of those that I have seen on display in the store has been a falling apart POS just from people playing with it.

If you are using it for racing what about the red cart?

Roll it right to where you need to work. I have the black one and have no complaints, and the price was right.

Not trying to derail the topic but I had a question about your comment. I have TONS of tool boxes, and I also use my fathers and vice versa. Without having a buddy that is locksmith what is the best way to get a BUNCH of locks that use the same key? If you or anybody else knows please let me know any tips, I have been looking at auctions and yard sales and everywhere I can.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have no clue, I just throw the other two keys in the top box small middle drawer and lock it with the one key. While only keeping the one key out, I still have access to the other two section box keys.

This is just an overflow box for my home garage, so I am not constantly in and out of it for the multiple key thing to be an issue. For that matter, it is usually left unlocked half the time.
