Anybody know of any stores in the NY Metro/Tri-State area that will accept the 20% off coupon on top of the sale price?

T am pretty sure that is completely dead as 11-8. It really was an abuse of their policy any way and $349 is an awesome price.

I got the main bottom box, but now i need a good coupon for side cabinets. Anyone have coupons for those? Are all coupons for large percentage off not applicable to boxes. I just got a 25% off thanksgiving day coupon. But they probably wont work on boxes.

The 25% off is the first I saw that said no boxes in the fine print.

Does the 8-drawer top cabinet (92099) that goes along with this roller cab ever go on any meaningful sale? I can't recall ever seeing a Super Coupon for it.

Oh, also, I had asked about mixing and matching drawers around to get the depth you want, where you want. I have the 13-drawer roller cab and the 7-drawer side cab. Within each cab, you can move the deep and shallow drawers up and down as you feel like. They fit onto the rails perfectly and lock properly. Between the two different cabs, however, it's a different story. The narrow drawers from the roller will fit properly onto the rails in the side cab and vice versa. Everything at first appears fine. However, it turns out that the roller cab and the side cab place their locking mechanisms in slightly different spots. So the drawers you switch from one cab to the other will close and open properly, but won't lock.

You could still call and order "replacement" drawers for the correct cab if you wanted more deep or shallow drawers.

i just went to the idaho falls, idaho store saturday to buy the top and bottom box and tried to use 20% off coupon for the top box and they wouldnt accept it, i even made sure i had the coupon that didnt say not good for tool boxes.
but on the flip side i did get the bottom box for 349.99 i had the digital savings online super coupon for that..:) instead of 499.99 that they had it listed for... new corp. policy as of monday the 8th....

soooooo. nobody should be able to use the 20% off on any tool boxes and a few others (cant remember what the manager said).

Where and how do you get the digital savings online super coupon?

It is (or was?) on sale for $299. Some stores will accept the 20% off coupon. They won't stack coupons on the bottom since 11-8.

I bought a 13 drawer box from HF some years ago and I am very pleased with how well it has served my tools and myself as I am very **** about my tools as I am very sure most all of us here on this site are. I also own several Craftsman boxes and have no problem using this Us General box in fact I would much rather get more for my money and this unit gives it much more than the current Craftsman tool boxes give at a much lower cost.

Sometimes if you talk with a store manager they will give you at least a 10 percent mark down on an item like a tool box. Next time give em a little hell in a nice way and they very often give it to you. At the very worst you will get something out of them extra as per most managers. Never any harm in asking.

I picked up my 13 drawer last weekend and I really like it. Now to buy the sides and tops. It's like playing with man-sized Legos.

I just got a 13-drawer laast weekend also, using the $349 coupon. Seems to be okay, although the green (Masterforce? I can't remember) 26" from Menards is definitely more sturdily built. But for only treeFiddy, it's a great box that will probably last quite a few years....

I hold each and every one of you on this forum jointly and severally responsible...........................for my being unable to resist buying one of these HF 13 drawer cabinets. Thanks to cwolfley for the coupon link, I got it for $349.99 plus tax. Manager wouldn't budge any more than that, but I am still very content. The finish is a rough matte red but the drawers and carcass are stronger and more heavy duty than the HD, Cman and Lowes boxes by far. The Lowes comes close but at twice the price and includes a stereo and one model has a fridge. I can provide my own. Jack's black drawer mod put me over the top in deciding on new rather than waiting for a used SO. It just barely fits height wise into a 95 Astro Van with the 2 second row seats removed. This is with the wood crate and bottom lid removed and the cabinet flipped over. Heavy as hell, I'll have to give my wife Julie the heavy end when we take it out. Now I've got to clear a room out enough to get it inside. BTW, the other related cabinets to this one at HF are all $50 off regular price. This is quite a move up for me from cardboard boxes and just leaving things all over the house and yard. My first Tool Cart. It's all your fault that I spent the property tax money on this. I'll have to get the wife to work some overtime.....

Bill, sounds like your priorities are in-order. Congratulations!

I'm still having a tantrum over not being able to get the 7-d side box for 20% off, so I'm just enjoying the main cabinet until I get my priorities straight. ;-)

Yes I need side cabs as well. I almost folded today and just paid $199 each for them. Has anyone ever seen the sides for less than that?

I wonder if I could convince them that the side and tops are tool "chest" not "cabinets". The coupon states no "Tool Cabinets". According to their own wording on the website the other pieces are "tool chest".

I'd sure like to get a side "chest" for my set-up.

It's prolly a stretch, but couldn't hurt to try.

A big heads up here:

The swivel casters were not properly tightened on mine. The head of the bolts holding the casters to the box are too close to the thrust bearing. The bolts were run down until the thrust bearing pushed the tool off the bolt. This resulted in rounded-over corners to the bolt heads and about 1.5-2mm of "slack" in the bolts. I properly tightened the bolts down using an open-end wrench as nothing else would fit.

You guys might want to do the same before you roll a loaded box over a tiny bump and rip off a caster.

Could not get the store or manager to budge on price yesterday. Complete no go. I guess I wait to see a lower price.

You couldn't get the go go below $349 or to accept the 20% off coupon?

I think the $349 price is the best we're going to see so I'm picking one up for Christmas before they expire on 12/20.

Good news on the 5 drawer service cart. It is not in the tool box exclusion for the 20% off coupons. They even took it off of the super coupon price.

so I go to a brand new HF store in amherst NH. I called them first and they said they had 2 f the toolboxes in the computer. I get up there amnd they do not have them - Argggghhh. They did give me a raincheck so I will have to go back in a week or two. I will try talking to the manager at that time to see if they can do any better than the $349

Although they are still back ordered online, the price is now showing $399.99 instead of $499.99 as usual.

Someone talk me out of this before I go get one today. But dont try to hard, I want one. I guess I will have to go see for sure, but what are the odds they will take the 20% coupon and the $349 coupon? If they wont I am really thinking about holding off and seeing if they run a sale less than $399 during the holidays and then I can use the 20 off coupon, surely they will during the holidays, if they have done it before.

I am hoping if I get the bottom, Santa will bring the top cab for christmas and that setup will replace my 2 craftsman combos and leave room to spare. Plus they are bigger and deeper drawers. I checked it out at the store yesterday, seems rock solid for the price, really a nice box.

I think I could get a couple hundred off craigs selling my 2 combos, which will make the new boxes "cheaper"

you're not allowed to use a coupon on tool boxes anymore. you might get lucky and still get to like some of these people seem to have but don't count on it. i'd say your $349 coupon is your best bet for now

+1 - I went and picked up a box last weekend. They had signs right on the toolbox stating that the 20% off coupons were no longer valid on toolboxes, compressors, etc.

I think $349 is going to be the best we'll see for a while. If you ask me, it's still an awesome box for that price. It was a steal at $271.

Cool. I will try, never hurts. I was in there yesterday and was looking at the box for a good 20 minutes, never saw anything about no coupons, so maybe I will get lucky

Actually it would be cheaper (if they will take the 20% off the normal sale price) to get 20% off of $399, cause that will come out to $319. Well cheaper than just using the $349 coupon that is. I may ask for a manager "nicely" also, because the coupon also says nothing about not being able to use it for that, maybe they would let it slide.. I will give it hell trying if I decide to get one.

It was listed in the latest flyer as $399 on sale! I was thinking the same idea! It seems coupon usage continues to vary by store. If they have the signs posted I would just go to another store. I was able to apply the 20% against the top box at the $299 price. I might try for the $319 and if it doesn't fly go for the $349 price.

I hope it works out for you. The reason there is nothing on the coupon is because the coupons were printed before that rule went onto effect. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and the no coupons on tool boxes, air compressors and what ever else it says was at the counter. I did try to get the manager to let me use both and he said that you can't use a 20% coupon with a super coupon which the $349 is.

Good luck on getting to use both coupons, keep us informed.

I was going to ask about that, home depot here has an 11 drawer 53" waterloo box for $349, no clue if its as good, but the HF box claims to have triple the load capacity, so I bet the depot box is thinner material. Also has 8 drawer top for $249
But, havent seen in person to know yet

I bought the 41" HF box about a week ago. I was in HD looking at the box you linked to last night (I was waiting on the fiancee to get out of the bathroom). The Husky box is better than most cheap Craftsman stuff, but not as nice as the HF box. The Husky was thinner steel, I think, or more poorly fastened together. It had a rattly/boomy feel to it that the HF box doesn't. Play with the Husky and the feeling is "yeah, ok, this is some sheet metal folded up and stuck together" whereas doing the same things to the HF unit you think "wow, this is surprisingly solid!".

just do it and never look back. you may kick yourself when you can't get it for the $349.

I paid the 349 for mine and love it. i'm moving stuff around in the garage to get another.
