You were lucky. I just spoke with the manager at my nearest HF store (1 hr. away) and she wouldn't let me have the same deal. I even begged and the answer was NO. Oh well, didn't hurt to try.

From what I read he went to two different stores. One for the box the other for the side locker. That might be the key.

Re: Comparison

How would you guys compare the HF to this Crafstman box if they were the same money?

Cman Box

Hard to say for sure, most of the Craftsman boxes are pretty crappy these days. Personal opinion, the HF box beats all but maybe the most expensive Craftsman line, the ones that are 2-3x the money.
I've got a 3 unit stack of Craftsman, newest piece is at least 15 years old, the HF beats it to death on quality.

I agree, except I've only got a single Craftman box

Re: Comparison

I have 2 six drawer, ball bearing slide griplatch C boxes and the HF 13 drawer is much heavier/better gauge on the metal. the HF box at the usual $359 sale is a better box for way cheaper money.

Yep, I have a couple of USA made griplatch boxes and some older friction slide ones as well, the HF box beats 'em all. Thicker steel, heavier duty slides.

Picked up the 13 drawer, and will be adding the top chest in the coming days... Great unit. Used the 349.99 coupon printed from this thread. Thank you to the member that posted it.

This is the first 'big box' I've ever purchased and I did alot of research on the market coming to the decision the HF boxes are the best option for a home garage with expandability.

10 4 on the pickup truck. They load it with a forklift and ask you specifically at check-out : "Do you have a truck?"

I will post updated pics next week with the top chest. thanks.

not sure if anyone else noticed this but this also works for the 13 drawer roller. makes it $320. you can print out the price page and bring it to the store to save on shipping. can't say for sure they would honor it but i don't see why not. i'm kinda bummed cause just two days ago i ordered a new gun and i think if i knew about this i'd be picking up a couple of them instead. figured i'd let others know so they can try it out though

This worked for me today, unfortunately the only dude in the warehouse was not "fork lift certified" so I couldn't get my box. :wtf:

Picked up the top chest and very happy with it. Together this is a great setup. Now it's just a matter of filling it.

It's amazing how the top chest 'completes' the unit. I'm sure they designed it so you will buy both, but it is a much better look than just the bottom unit.

I put all the sockets on the top since its not a drawer. Before I got the top chest, I had the same setup in the top drawer of the bottom roller cabinet unit. It was fine, but opening the drawer too quickly would cause the sockets to fall and create a mess.

Got the setup idea from MechanicNamedJohn. thanks for the great thread below..

I picked up the bottom roller cabinet yesterday, for $346.39 after taxes. I used the SHOP20 coupon (must have another item in your cart in addition to the cabinet) on the website, and took the printout to the store. The manager was happy to price match it and even loaded it with the forklift for me. :bounce: I'm flat blown away by the quality of it. Its easily blows away my inherited Kennedy Machinist's Chest and two drawer cabinet (which are going to be a restoration project now).

I'm super excited that I finally have the room to put all my tools in one spot, and my garage will be cleaner because of it. I personally like the color and the wrinkle paint. If it gets super dirty, I have several extra electric toothbrushes that work wonders for rough surfaces. :)

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these, can anybody tell me how the Shop 20 coupon works?

go to the hf website. put the 13 drawer roller in your cart. find something else super cheap like out of the clearance area. put that in your cart. enter shop20 into the coupon box. after all that, there should be a print to take to store button. print it out and bring it in for the price match

Wouldn't a 20% off coupon from any car magazine do the same thing?

Oh! Wish I had known about this before I picked mine up the other week. Would have saved me 35 bucks! I'm still pretty happy with the box.

Think I could have them give me money back if I brought in the receipt and printout?

I just wanted all the prospective buyers of the 13 drawer box to know it will fit in a 2005ish Ford explorer if you un-crate it at the store.

Just bring a couple of blankets, and slide it in on it's back.

The rear gate closes too.

Thanks for the info on "shop20". I had to make sure I entered it as "shop20" instead of "shop 20" to get it to work, but I've now got the print out to take to the store. Wish me luck!

First thing you do is ask if they match online prices. They will say yes at which point you present the print out.

I get home from Iraq in about 10 days, after reading on this box I think it will be perfect for what I need. If I add to cart and use the shop20 code like stated above and print it out, do you think they will honor it week and a half from now. I just signed up for there specials by email so I'm not well versed in their sales. Does this toolbox go on sale for $399 pretty regular or is this a rare opportunity? I just don't want to miss out on the $349 deal.

The toolboxes are always on sale for $399, can be found much of the time for $369, and a few times a year for $349.

I was able to take the printout with my receipt and get the difference today. The girl told me, "The printout must have the date from today to be honored." Maybe some HF stores will let it slide.

Carrolton, TX was a no go to matching the shop20 discount. However in the newest Motor Trend they have a coupon for $359

Coupon code is
29197902
Expires 9/3/11 and says it's for online or in store.

You won't be able to use that code with any other coupons since it says not valid with any other coupons but it still makes it a good deal.

I picked one up and I love it.

Hmmmm. Shop20 code doesn't seem to be working anymore. The discount is now only applied to the other item in the cart, not the tool cabinet.

Got mine the other day. Store had no problem matching the internet price as long as I had a printout from that day.

Is the "shop20" still working? I've tried it with various combinations of stuff in the cart, but can't get it to apply to the box.

Yep, looks like the SHOP20 coupon code is dead for the tool cabinets. EXTRA15 still works, provided there is still another item in the shopping cart. YMMV.

It just worked from the one I printed on Monday . Out the door with a pack of soap stones for 350.67. Now I got to wait till they dig it out.

O.K. so now I'm pissed! I entered the extra15 code today and got the 15% discount on the 13 drawer tool box in my cart. I printed out the contents of the cart making sure it had today's date, loaded up my trailer, and drove one hour one way to Harbor Freight. The clerk at the register was not sure and called in assistance. The assistance says he could not honor the price without the bar code and that not all coupons work in the store. So the big box stores price match any other store and Harbor Freight can't even price match their own print out. What's up with that? Looks like I'll be buying a copy of Motor Trend and clipping the coupon for $359. Fuel costs sure are eating into the savings though. Guess I should have gone with the Shop20 coupon when I had it and just paid the shipping.

Extra 15 no longer works for the toolbox, +1 item trick.

35mastr, was that the last box in Santa Clara? I'm trying to decide which HF I need to go to.
