I bought the top and bottom box today . Sale ends today ( 3/25/10 )and was listed at $299 for the top & $399 for the bottom . I told them i had 2 coupons and they told me one per purchase . So i got the top for $299 and the bottom for $319 . $671.13 out the door . Fit seems good so far . Finish is on the cheaper side ( i could see it turning pink ) . Casters seem pretty good . I will be buying the side boxes friday after the sale with 20% off coupons as it is cheaper that way . I am going to sell my smaller Craftsman ball bearing that i bought new and retracking my Snap on box as in tired of fighting it . Really wanted the 56" combo , but they were insistant on me paying freight on it after i special ordered it . That was a deal killer as I could just see me getting a damaged box and the fight that would bring to swap it . Time will tell on this one , but so far so good . If it doesn't work out for me i have to son-in-laws it would be a serious step up for.

is anybody else having issues getting the 7 drawer cabinet? My local store doesn't have any in stock and they said there's also none at the warehouse. With the sale price back on the 13 drawer, I might just grab another one for the $100 difference. I wonder if they would ship store to store?

Same story with the Minneapolis, MN store. In fact, they were out of stock even before the recent sale. They are offering rainchecks, but I'm half tempted to just pick up another whole chest for the price difference

I just called one of the local stores here in SE MI, and they are out. She checked the warehouse - they are out. She checked the other local stores - they are out. Popular item apparently.

hmmm, I might just have to hurry up and pick up the extra chest. What's the possibility of HF totally dropping this product? Someone just posted a clearance on the 2 shelf cabinet yesterday.

Question: If you want more than one cabinet can you purchase it, then go right back inside and buy another one using the 20% coupon? and do they take the one printed from the website or does it have to be out of a magazine? thanks

depends on your cashier but for me they will just ring the items up separately. They take any printouts I give them. Even price match the website without issue.

your 339 a coupon? if so, they won't stack coupons. But, printout the price on the website and have them price match it and then use the coupon.

I just called about the 7 drawer cabinet again and was told 3-4 weeks but that's what they said earlier in the month when I went to get it already.

I believe you need a coupon for each transaction. Just print off enough coupons to cover however many items you want to purchase and you will be good to go.

Ok. I got a fist full of printed out 20% coupons. Got two boxes reserved until close tonight. So now I am little concerned that the will not take the web price of $339 and a 20% coupon? so has anybody got this deal yet? This will be a 3hr round trip.

Just got back from the local Harbor Freight. They were all out, but said I could have the floor model or wait until the next shipment on Tuesday. I took the raincheck, but now I am concerned that they will drop the product. I have to make another run near another Harbor Freight store and will check to see if they have it in stock.

They were listed for $399 in store, but said they would honor the $339 on the printed out ad. The raincheck is for $339. They also said using the 20% off coupon would be no problem.

Called the other Harbor Freight in this area while I was out and they said they were out of both the top and bottom box. I guess I will wait until the next shipment and use the raincheck.

Went to my Harbor Freight today and they matched the $339 internet price on the bottom box with no hassle but wouldn't/couldn't apply the 20% coupon. They said the system won't allow it if they price match. Anyone have success using the coupon at the $339 price on the current promo?

I got the same response tonight. They would match the price, but the computer wouldn't let them use the coupon. They did try though, and the screen would just flash like there was an error.

Called my local store last night, and they have 4. Gonna go get one tommorow morning. They are listing them at 339, so maybe they will take the coupon.

This may be better suited somewhere else, but it is related to Harbor Freight.

I can't say that I'm surprised, but it seems that on a LOT of items in the store, they have raised the prices and then run a lot of the same items in all of the sale flyers. It makes them seem like they're on sale, but sale prices used to be $5-$15 lower on average than they are now.

HF has raised prices and now sale prices = old prices on most things.

It's a popular item, so I wouldn't worry too much about it going away.

The price of shipping has gone up, and since you can't get too many of those boxes in a cargo container, the price will rise on them. I've been told by my shipping rep that prices will continue to climb this year, as all the shipping lines are currently losing money.

There has been HUGE volume of things shipping from China, so the shippers built new cargo ships. When the economy took a dive, they actually stopped sailing a bunch of them (to keep supply low and prices high), but they still have to pay for them. As the economy recovers, ships will go back into the fleet.

Expect China prices to go up, mostly due to shipping. Those tool boxes probably cost $10 to ship to a west coast port. Expect a $5 to $10 increase by the end of the year.

Didn't have success with the coupon, but since someone told me on the phone that I could get the $339 and use the coupon, they did a manual override of the price to what it would be if the coupon could be used.

I had to talk to a manager and give the name of the salesperson I spoke with on the phone who said it was possible. I would guess that she (the salesperson) doesn't make that mistake again.

Their system will not allow a manual price override and the coupon in the same transaction.

I don't see why not. Last week I just had them price match a online price for the torque wrench and used a 20% coupon no issues.

Now I'm really wondering if I should move quicker with my decision because of all these issues. Shipments of not coming in, pricing issues, stores not having any in stock.

I just took a copy of the internet price of $339 into the store and my 20% coupon and the total with tax ended up being about $290. I asked how many they had and they said they had 10 of them in the back.

Went to HF and got 2 rain checks for 13 drawer bottoms and 2 sides. They claim they'll have 'em Monday (yeah right, that's four Mondays in row now). I fully intend to use to use the 20% coupons.

Wow , $290 on the bottom box seems like a good deal . I went back today and bought the large side box , but got a rain check on the smaller one . Told me they would have them in 2 to 3 weeks .

Just picked up two of them right at closing. Had to listen to the "we can not price match and take the coupon" story. After me keeping on for about 5 min, the manager gave me both of them for $271 plus tax.

I've had one of these for 3 years now, and have used it ~6 hours every weekend. I'm not light on it, I've got 3 grinders, extra wheels, and a big dead-blow in the bottom drawer. 3 impact guns, an air ratchet, an air hammer, and a dozen chisels in the smaller bottom drawer. No bending, no scraping, no problems at all. I'm buying another one this week.

Went to the other Harbor Freight in town and got one this afternoon. They price matched to $339 and then manually did the 20% discount since the coupon won't scan on a price match. $294 out the door with tax. Success and no hassles or complaining from HF staff... Very smooth transaction.

Aw man! Saw the reports on here that the computer wouldn't price match so I didn't try it since the closest store is 30 min and I'd have to rent a truck (man I need my own truck haha)... now I see you guys are getting it... but went back to check the email and the $339 price says good through 3/29/10

Back to hoping they'll do another "special" soon...
