Called my local store last night, and they have 4. Gonna go get one tommorow morning. They are listing them at 339, so maybe they will take the coupon.

I should have gone Saturday, but I was too busy. I went Sunday after church, and I called before I left. The young girl told me there where 2 left. I told her I was on my way to pick one up, and she told me that she would get one ready. My wife and I made the hour drive, and stopped for lunch on the way. When we get there, I find out that they just sold the last one. Man I was burned up. Anyway....She says we are getting 2 more in tommorow, and they will hold it for me till I get there. But I have to work, and it's an hour drive.........I am still mad.

But I did get to check it out pretty good. Really nice unit compared to my Cman. Also, the black one that somebody posted on here is a piece.

definitely not US made but sure is dam good quality for the price Ive got 12 sets of shallow and deep sockets in the big top drawer and two deep impact sets and the thing isnt bending bowing or anything and it is still very easy to push. Not a snap-on but for the hooby mechanic you really can't beat it. save money on the chest and buy nicer tools

not sure when but I am keeping my eye on it. I have checked out every tool box shop in my area and you can't get the same size, quality, etc for anything close to this price. It will look nice in my garage this summer.

just wanted to add, even at the normal $399 + the 20% coupon that is in every car mag around this is a killer deal. That give you a price of $319. No one can touch that, not for a box this size. Same for the top box.

I looked at one last night. I will say for the price 300 can't really complain, compared to my quiet Glide that the draws look bent up from the factory. Box seems like it has a lot of room. Nothing like a snap on but for the house I think it will be perfect. Im watching the adds for a few weeks till I make a move.

Post any more pictures you guys have of box in garage.

well, after waiting about two months for the 7 drawer I just went in yesterday and grabbed another 13 drawer for 271.99 instead. I went in close to closing and one of the managers was not happy about the rain check I presented. He was thinking it was the current sale of 399+20% off coupon when I said it was 339+20% off. Him and another guy were saying to just do it (rain check was given to me by another manager) as long as it's not cheaper than what they paid for. The manager's response was "it's not cheaper but pretty darn close". So, anybody want to venture what their cost is?

I noticed where the "on-line" store now has a Black version in addition to the Red one. Has anyone seen a black one in a retail store? Or in person?

they have both red and black here in my town. They look exactly the same but i think the load rating on the black is way less.

Once again, does anyone have a link to the internet *only* 20% discount coupon? I don't mean the in store coupon as I see quite a few links etc. But, for those who don't have a HF like me I would like to order these box's on line and ship them to Canada . . .

Coupon states its only for in store use. There was a GJ member who posted the internet coupon here before but I can't find it . . .

I was told the operator wont accept the *in store coupon* when taking telephone orders.

When I bought my first Craftsman top cabinet, it was a 200.00 cabinet over twenty years ago. I waited for almost five years for it to go on sale for 99.00.

It was another 15 before I bought a cheezy bottom cabinet on sale for 139.00. I have to say I fairly rushed out to buy the HF box on sale. Maybe they will have another sale, and maybe it was a one time thing to whip up a buying frenzy. I never did see another Craftsman for 99.00.

No worries, who ever finds the *internet coupon* please do link it here . . . Teken wants to build two whole rows of tool storage chests like the GJ member in previous posts above!

I want, I need, I must have it . . . :bounce:

Just a heads up, that tool box, I'm pretty sure its not made in the USA & I don't know if its made in Mexico. If anyone else can help out with where its made that would help.
Unless its made in either of those 2 places you will be looking at a fair amount of duty I think. If you already know that & know what that duty is can you let me know.
Thanks

Steve

I definately will let you and the rest of the Canadian guys know what happens assuming I ever get the freaking internet coupon and those tool chest go back down to sale prices . . .

I am looking at 6 of the chest and 6 of the side door bins, and 6 of the drawer style hang off's . . .

Was planning to do a wall of cabinets before, but after seeing the other GJ members set up of a huge counter as a tool chest. That's where it needs to be, and its practical as well!
