I've been going to buy a HF 44-inch tool chest for years. This is just based on the fact that it has good reviews, fits my space, and has lots of drawers. Other boxes in the price range always seem to have fewer drawers. They retail for 500 dollars, but almost always seem to have a coupon for $450. However, there haven't been any coupons since a couple months. Does anyone know of any current deals (maybe with inside track club) to get them for less than full price of $500 right now? Second, do you think the toolbox is worth it even at the full price of $500? It just so happens I don't want to keep waiting, and the price never comes down anyway.

I have seen the 44 on sale for 450 in the last couple months. It seems like only about one of the tool boxes/carts go on sale at a time. The 4 drawer cart is on sale now.

Personally, I think it's a great value and would buy it for 500 if I wanted/needed it right away. Bonus if you can find it on sale.

Maybe they will have a memorial day sale?

If you want it, just buy it and don't look back. You said you wanted it for years. Skip a meal out and the $50 you are trying to save will be there. Have a sandwich in the garage on top of your new box with the wife while you are setting it up. Like a picnic. Win/Win.

Seriously...The are worth the money at $500 if it is what you want.

I have a 56 and 44 because, togther, they were slightly more than a 72. Should have bought 2 56s. That said, they are good boxes. I'd have a hard time dropping $500, but that's probably because they were $400 when I bought mine.

Definitely worth the money. I got an email for Inside Track Club and it had some toolbox coupons but I think it was mainly the 5 drawer carts though. The boxes you really can’t beat. Several of my coworkers have them and use them professionally everyday.

Yeah getting close to pulling the trigger myself, probably a 56". I think the coupons are a thing of the past, there may be sales though. I went ahead and got their credit card and will try and make 1 big purchase and best utilize the 10% off on first use. Not in a hurry so if a sale comes along, will probably pull the trigger then.

I almost did the same thing with a 72 a while back. I was going to replace a bench in my garage with it. The same day I was was going to pull the trigger when it was on sale (impulse buyer) my clothes washer took a dump and I decided clean underwear would be a better deal. Just haven't had the impulse to buy it again.

Few months ago I picked up the 44" roller cabinet and the matching side cabinet. Check them over closely for damage! The side box had no visible packaging damage, but after driving an hour, opening the roller cabinet, finding it perfect. Left the side box alone for my 4 day work rotation. Then opened it up to find it looking like it was kicked down the stairs prior to packaging! Wasn't terrible, but the corners were tweaked, most of it I was able to save.

I picked up my blue 44 a few years ago for $399. It's still worth $500. I made a bottom frame out of angle iron and put 5 inch heavy duty casters. Definitely worth the money.

The 56" lower boxes just went on sale earlier this month as a pre-sale, but ended on the 5-14-2021. I paid $699.00 for the 56" blue lower and $299 for a 44" upper cabinet. I will say, these boxes are pretty awesome and well worth the price.

But aren’t these newer ones deeper maybe that’s why they are higher? I don’t know

I just picked up the 44" bottom and top last Friday. Even at full price, it's a great combo. The other box I was looking at was the Masterforce 41" at Menards, but once I found out their rebates are for in-store use only it kind of killed it for me since the closest one is 45 minutes away and I've been there twice in 8 years since it opened. So for me it was basically $1200 at Menards, or $900 at HF, and either are better than what you'll get at Lowe's and HD.

Excuse the mess, my in-laws are downsizing and gave my wife and I three truckloads of cookware, decorations, general ****, and most importantly tools, all of which got dumped in the garage until I find a home for them. My old Craftsman 26" you see in the background was bursting at the gills, as was a crappy "Speedway" brand 24" cabinet/chest combo, so the 44" unit gives me some breathing room. And since HF stopped mailing out catalogs I no longer pay attention to when things go on sale there.

I got the green 44 top and bottom awhile back, color is growing on me. It's a really good box for a homeowner/mechanic. The wife got my Gen1 26" box for her stuff. I'm waiting on the end lockers to come back in stock hopefully sometime soon.

Well worth the money. I have the 44 but I really need to upgrade to a Blue 56 or 72. The price can't be beat.

I have a 44 inch in one garage and recently replaced one of the big Costco boxes in the other garage with a 56 inch. The 56 is amazing for the price.
