Local store has one of these in store now. Price tag says 'special order only', so I'm guessing they only have the display and won't actually sell you one there. Same build quality and drawer latches.

Just a glance I know but your store looks sooooo much nicer then the one near me..

Most of the stores around here are pretty new, but I've been in some old ones when I lived in the midwest!

What store is that? I live in Lynnwood and would like to go and check one out in person.

This was the Federal Way one. I've frequented the Bellevue/Georgetown/Kent stores and haven't seen a 72" at any of them.

I don't see this magic "full-length" drawer that a lot of you are talking about....

The 72 is back at 1499.99 on the website, still with 90 day back order. I placed my order a little over a month ago and got a letter in the mail today saying it will be about 4 weeks until they are shipped out. I can't wait to roll this in my bay!

1499 for a tool box? from what i have learned on this site is you can get four of the HF 44" for, wait.....Never mind.

for cheaper if you have a coupon for the 44's 168" of goodness>72" even at half the price if you dont have the room, go for 2 and have 84". you will be missing some depth, which plays a factor. but go back and look at cost and see if its worth it. id rather have 2 44's bolted together myself

Since the 56" is on sale for $ 699.99....

How about two of them...

Same depth, and 112" long!!!

Hold up a helluva workbench top, too!!!

I started this thread, and I've got a 56"...which is all I'll ever need...but the 72" Roller is mighty nice for the money...

I was just commenting on the 44's but 2 of the 56 would probably be more than most people would ever need. 2 tied together with. Nice top would be super.

Actually you can get the 72" tool box for $999 with a coupon. That makes it a lot cheaper and a better deal compared to the other boxes.

How far would a guy have to go to beat it even at retail without magic coupons. I know that sounds like a question but as one said,, I paid 1 vs 7 and got a bird in the hand.
Another aspect is, don't hear of people wearing them out. I actually heard some impressive things about them in brutal working shops.

Sub'ing.

Waiting for the big boy to go on sale again. If I'm to impatient I will just settle for the one under it. Went and looked at them and they will fit the bill.

Saw one in store and big sign on it says display only special order product. I don't think its better than the truck brands vut for the price its pretty solid. The drawers don't seem to wobble like the 56 does empty, comparing them empty in the store.

Not to be bumping old threads...but for those who had the box shipped to their house. Does the online shipping calculator reflect all of the shipping costs/fees or is it still possible they charge you an additional cost once it arrives to your location for lift gate fees?

Shipping to me according to their site is $95, which isn't too bad to save me the hassle of either borrowing or renting a truck to pick up the 72" box. However, if all of a sudden it arrives at my location and they add on another $50-$90 fee for lift gate fees, that would negate a lot of the benefits of having it shipped to me.

I was looking at the manuals for the 72" and the 56", trying to figure out drawer heights to compare.

http://manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/61000-61999/61656.pdf

http://manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/67000-67999/67681.pdf

The manual for the 72" shows the long drawer is 4", then three 2.25", then a 5.25", and finally a 7.25". Not including the frame between the long drawer and drawers below, that total height for six drawers is 23.25" tall.

The manual for the 56", shows a 5" top, two 3", a 4", a 6", and an 8". For those six drawers the total height is 29". This is 5.75" taller useable space than the 72", assuming the manual is correct (which I doubt).

A picture in a previous reply in this thread showed the 56" next to a 72" and the 72" cabinet height was slightly taller than the 56", which indicates to me that the extra frame below the long drawer added to the height and the useable space is likely very close to being the same between the two.

I don't have a HF near me (hour away), if you own one of these can you verify the drawer heights for me? Its not shocking the manual from HF is incorrect. I'm guessing the 72" drawers are taller, at 3", 6", and 8" like the 56" cabinet. Even still, that puts it 2" shorter than the 56" (which may be due to the extra frame)

Has this cabinet been discontinued? I can't find it on Harbor Freight's site now.

I've been eyeing this cabinet for years, so I'm not surprised they would get rid of it right when I finally decided to order one. :(

Edit: Just found this thread. Someone said it's only sold in stores now. That's a shame because I don't have a way to haul one home, and I'm sure it would cost considerably more to hire a moving company than shipping would have cost. I guess I'll look for something else.

Go rent a truck with a liftgate for a couple hours.
