Does anyone have the HF wooden tool chest? I was thinking of getting one for my mom to use as a craft box, and maybe get one for my measuring tools (squares, calipers, etc). I know these aren't Gerstner boxes, but if you have used one, how has it held up?

I do not own one, but I saw one while at a garage sale and it looked very flimsy to me. The owner said he should have saved his money.

No, it's not a Gerstner, but if it's going to hold Grandma's sewing notions it will probably work just fine.
I saw one up at Harbor Freight but didn't really give it a thorough examination.

There are tons of items on Ebay that might suit your purposes. Search "parts cabinet". I've picked up a few recently for my girlfriend - old 1950's and 1960's units made of stamped steel - fairly bulletproof but they all need refinishing. None of them were over $25.

I think I have that exact same table in the spare bedroom. Still have never completely assembled it and used it. Somebody make me an offer.

I got one when they had them on sale with a 25% etc... for the <$40 I paid for it, it works. I wouldn't buy another. It works for what it is, but if i had more time to look I would have paid more for a better box. I just needed something at the time to keep stuff organized and for that it works OK.

The front panel is very flimsy and broke immediately.
