It's also more than 50mi trip to the store and back for me too and one miserable drive at that :lol_hitti

I had the same type of problem but with their 12v Earthquake sander polisher. Basically the AC Delco unit like found on Amazon.

Anyhow was on sale for $89.99 from like $129. Store inventory showed 3 and one was the wall display they told me and they cant sell that one.

But of course nobody could find the other two.

Got a rain check... went out of my calling back occasionally virtually the entire season here, even got my raincheck renewed.

Inventory continued to show 3, I questioned how would they ever get any more in if nobody corrects the computer... just dumb looks. Said they have no control on inventory they just get what is sent. Emailed HF online got a run around that they had no control over individual store wtf!

Finally gave up purchased the Milwaukee M12 one instead and what I should have done in the first place anyhow.

You should by from some other place online like Jegs

Edit: I just realized how old the original posting is

Why not just order it online and have it delivered to your door?

Guess I really didn't want it bad enough :spit:

Never much thought about ordering one online and gave the local store the benefit of the doubt they would get the tool as they continued to tell me to keep checking back.

Not sure if the raincheck they gave me on the special sale limited time price was only for the store or not.

Far better off with the Milwaukee now though. Got the bare tool kit on Black Friday deal for the same money as the everyday price of the Earthquake and instead of just one battery to use I now have 15 plus a 5 year warranty :lol_hitti

I love people offering advice to the OP who started this thread 5+ years ago. I'm sure he has moved on. I hope the rest of us can too.

Not sure about everybody else but I quoted Keith and we were responding to the newbie that brought the thread back from the dead.

The others ?

:dunno:

The BBB won't do **** for you. They are not there to help anyone, businesses or consumers, they are there to help themselves to extortion money.
worked for a company in bankrupcy, wanted to to join the BBB to improve image, guess what?, they charge you to join

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
the manager at my local HF and I are on very good terms and he will knock a dollar or two off the price of the regular stuff and the "open box" stuff

Yep, I don't go into HF very often, but one time they were the only place that had a thing I needed (wheel brace for motorcycle stand I was building), they had 4 in stock, and every one looked like the container they were shipped in got hit by a cannon ball or asteroid... I asked the clerks at the till if they could give me a few bucks off, and they not only made sure I knew they didn't give a **** ("What, your husband will be fine with this" and "You're an idiot, lady, this is fine") but tried to bums rush me out the store, joking with the customers behind me about "man, that's one crazy broad" as I'm leaving...

I did call the store manager 2 minutes later from my car (funny how cell phones work like that) and explained the weirdness - he asked me to come back in, gave me half off on it. A little time with a "heat wrench", a hammer and a crescent turned it into something usable.

The big issue is his employees lost HF a customer that day. Not that they really had one, and not like my lack of coming by will bankrupt them, but I would go out of my way to fab or find something rather than put up with the Mr. Denegrate and Mr.. Snotball at the till.

Okay... still not sure how that makes them a non-reliable source for business ratings.

Because if you pay BBB enough you can buy your rating. Since we paid for that A rating, no amount of complaining will dock that.

The one thing they ARE good at is mediating a solution to a problem, but... the consumer has to request it, not the business.

Yup the BBB and Dunn & Bradstreet are nothing but a sham. All a business needs to do is simply purchase their rating.
