I asked this question in Free Parking but let's see if it gets more traction here.

I have a HF blast cabinet that I've done a few mods to and is working really well. I've put in a metering valve, pressure regulator, real glass in window, cyclone vacuum, upgraded gun and a ball valve in the cabinet to use as an off/on.

I decided it all works well but I want to take it to the next level. I have ordered the deluxe upgrade kit from Tacoma Company along with a few other parts like the funnel adapter. I may just buy a new blaster and start from fresh and sell my current unit or keep it to run a more course grit and the other for finish as a two stage.

The question I have for this post is does anyone know of a mod for a top door. I still lose a bit of media when I open the side door and it would be nice to put parts in from the top. I put rivnuts in to mount the glass but a hinged window may be good as well.

I don’t have any info or ideas that will be helpful. I do want to ask if you have read the abrasive sticky on the first page of the tool section? Tons of info. Good luck with your mods, I’d love to have a blast cabinet one day. Just need some more room.

As ohmthis said the sticky is/was very useful when we started modding ours. One we used a door skin we had laying around the shop, Panel bonded it to the door. On another we used apiece of plexiglass, silicon around the edge and selftapping screws to mount it to the door. I used some high temp aluminum tape on mine at home and they have all held up well. anything really to keep the media from getting into the openings. Bump the door before you open it and everything should fall off.
