The doors shimming via washers is kind of screwy. Expect to re-shim them so the doors properly clear the openings. Think two washers at the bottom, zero or 1 at top.
The doors are light and flimsy. And they have no "stay closed" latch other than the locks. To be fair, mine is installed tilted slightly forward. So I just leave the keys in them. If you review Jack's 12 gauge garage thread, he has recessed pre-drilled backside cabinets for storeage; if you installed these minus the shelves and doors, you'd have a similar function.
I feel like I have a lot stored in (and on top of) mine too. And it's mounted to the studs in between the garage and a bedroom. It's like a lot of HF things; you're sacrificing because the price is lower than comparable units, but it's really not too bad an item for it's basic function. Mine was $20 off the regular price 3 or 4 years ago.
