Compressors are excluded (as it states on the coupon), but every store and cashier is different.

This is one of those instances where I would try my luck with multiple employees. If the first employee gives you friction move on to another cashier. Maybe one that's a little younger and try your luck again. Chances are you'll get the deal, it just depends on how many cashiers are working that day.
When dealing with insurance issues, phone bill isues, etc... I can be very patient when I want to talk to a service rep who is seasoned and knows their job. I'll stay on hold 20 minutes, several times in a row even, until I get a rep that I like.

Eh I would just follow the rules do u really want to beat the system and risk some dumb kid loosing their job? Asking a manager for an exception is fine but the other stuff sounds sneaky and puts others at risk while making you look like a douchebag...

If an item on display has been discontinued or is the only one in the store, sometimes a manager will let it fly for 10% to 20% off.
oh no. it would be on the up and up. id deal with a manager.
It's not even up to the cashier. The POS system won't even accept the coupon code for those excluded items..
However a manager can probably do an override. (maybe for a scratch and dent). Or maybe if you buy the extended warranty and an inside track membership.

Just called my local HF and you can use the 25% coupon on tool "carts". Heading there now to pick a 5-drawer.

Might want to hold off January 10,11,12 that cart is on sale for 169.99
I see coupons for the 4 drawer ones for $99. Might make sense to get 2 of the 4 drawer ones? If you have the room of course.

I was just there and the 5 drawer seem like a good deal higher quality. They are the same red color as the tool boxes also if you have one of those and care about matching.

The easiest way to see if a coupon is going to work, it to go to the HF website, add the item to your cart, add the coupon code on the checkout page & see if it works. If it works online, it will work in the store.
Contrary to what the people at HF think, the coupon codes are NOT unique & "trying" to see if it will work online will not somehow cancel your coupon out. They print the same exact ad in tens of thousands of copies of the same magazines....so you, along with every other person who bought that magazine or got a coupon circular that month, has identical coupons w/identical codes.

Of course the coupon didn't take off the 25%. I DID have the name of the person I spoke with and he quickly marked it down ($149.99). Not only that I picked up the magnetic papertowel holder and shelf, which they also took 25% off.
The 4 drawer is a fine cart, bit the 5 drawer is playing in a much higher league.

This would be the best way to play it. Tell the manager you will buy the inside track and the warranty and you might get lucky.
