It's not too hard to tell a printed coupon from a scanned and printed coupon.

It wouldn't be too hard for them to know that a "free screwdriver" coupon was available to anyone from FB, but "free multimeter" was only available in magazines, etc.
With the increasing web presence of e-subscriptions, it seems to be a faulty policy, but you can't blame them for trying to limit the improper use of the coupons.

True. I could understand that, like the coupons posted above where you can easily tell they are photocopies of a fly ad (newspaper type paper).

My printed coupon looked just like as if it was printed from an email but I guess they could tell by which coupon deals are offered only in magazines or emails. It's not likely for a cashier to be trained on all that or expected to know.

But as long as HF keeps doing deals & accepting coupons, I'll keep buying.

Yes but with the $149 coupon the 5 drawer cart is cheaper then 20% off $199 :D

some people dont think bout item specific coupons. lots of people are 20% and free only

Exactly, & when I heard about that $149 coupon I hopped on it to replace my old tired basic Snap On cart.

But that $149 coupon isn't readily available like the 20% coupon is. Coupons like that $149 for the 5-drawer isn't one you'll find in a store/sale flyers, mailings, or in emails. Lower priced coupons than the "normal" ones are usually found in subscription magazines only. Probably to lure new customer's in with a lower deal as opposed to those who already shop at HF who get their normal flyers/deals.

But even though, so far that $149 coupon is only current in one magazine that can't be found in your everday magzine rack. I had to go to a bookstore to find it but I want to subscribe to the mag anyway.

i work at HF... corporate sent down the policy change a week or so ago..

Have you heard anything about this?

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2075705&postcount=1319

Or was it possibly just a misunderstanding or in regards to photocopies of flyers?

there are alot of stores that say that. and there is nothing in the policy that says this.. i know im a member of management over the front end. cause they email coupons and everything you have to print them off. the only way you an really say no is if its obviously photocopied. like its crooked or ya can read all the numbers and it wont scan.

but the new system isnt even here yet.. its coming soon.. but the new register POS system is not here.. and if even if it was they will still allow us to key in stuff. have too.. people bring the coupons up on their phone all the time. Hell I do it!!

if the store gives you issue again talk to the manager.. cause the cashiers can be dicks as can the managers.

cause we're under-paid, under-appreciated, and over-worked..

its impossible for us to know what deal is going on coupon wise.. theres about 30 different ones out there!!

any given item could have 3-5 different prices..

and they dont even give us enough hours in a work week to get the floor filled up, much less train the cashiers on all the coupon ads going on..

Is there a coupon for their big 56" box??
I really wish I could still get the 72", there or somewhere else for that hf price.
Any one know where else sells us general or is that a hf brand only??

Anyone seen a coupon for the 41" top box? Looks like I need to make an emergency purchase before they run out!

they're probably already out.. warehouse has been out for a month or so, and stores sell through them quick enough they're probably all gone..

but call around the local stores to check.. Item #92099

If anyone in the midwest is in need of side boxes or top boxes in the old paint, The Ft. Wayne, IN store has 7 top boxes and quite a few side box options. I drove to the Terre Haute, IN store tonight I picked up a top box, they have two left, as well as some full size lockers, and a few 7 drawer boxes.

By the looks of the coupon you can but I figure I will ask you guys. Think you can use the 20% off coupon on a trailer when it is not on sale?

As long as it's not a super coupon, parking lot, blowout or tent sale item you can use the 20% off coupon.

I picked up the 42 box top and bottom.
Hf didn't want to take the coupon since it was for the old non gloss finish. The new ly painted red box has a different sku number. I had spoke to the manager and they took the $349 coupon for the misunderstanding. Very nice of them. I also have 30 days to find a coupon for the to box which I paid $299 for. Here they are next to my old craftsmen

I was looking for the 7 drawer side cabinet and it appears to have been dropped from their web site. Is there something happening there?

The 42 lower is no longer there either. Its because that model is All sold out. The new model is the gloss red painted and I'm sure it'll be on there sure soon. the painted ones are sooooo much nicer!!

I hate to chat in a coupon thread but I called my local store last night about the old top box and they said that the old color hasn't been discontinued yet. That appears to be the plan but since the item is still listed to them and on the website as backordered there is at least another container of them in transit.

I am looking for one in the old finish too. I hope I find one.

Thanks Dark Age! I just went in today and picked up the folding one. It was on sale for $299.00 and I got it for 253.00w/tax and coupon. My buddy and I still wonder how they make money on that.
