I watch their coupons regularly and have never seen one for anything other than the 13-drawer lower chest. The upper, the cabinet, and the one you showed are always at "sale" price. Their 20% coupons have excluded tool cabinets for going on two years now.

Thanks thats kind of what I figured.
Do they have any kind of black friday discounts?

I have a rain check for 2 side cabinets at $129 but they have been backordered for 3 months now. They keep telling me that they will call when they come in and honor the price.

I'm look into purchasing two 44" bottom boxes. First question, will the manager cut me a deal for two? I would be great to get out the door for under $700!

Second, will two boxes fit in a Suburban? Not a deal breaker, but would be nice.

under $700? no, the coupons are for $349, you could probably get a manager to do two different transactions, take your spouse and put one in her name, they really dont have the option to deal, the computer wont allow them to make exceptions on coupons, if they dont apply, they dont apply. you can get a 44" bottom box in a suburban, but it's over 300 lbs and getting it out without scratching it up would be tough, to get 2 in you'll probably have to load them tight and rubbing against each other and you'll need an older suburban, I have a 96 with third row seating, the really long version I guess.

I got a little open top utility trailer from uhaul for $27, it has a ramp that folds down and you can just roll them off, way better than wrestling 300 lbs out and trying not to drop it or scratch it.

Make sure you take the cardboard and plastic off before you leave, the first one they gave me had been hit by a forklift, it was no trouble, they immediatly switched it out, but would have sucked to be 120 miles away when I found it. Pics of the top box in my '96 and bottom on the trailer.

that bottom box is 300 lbs? wow.. must be huge!

How are these boxes construction wise? better, worse or, the same as a Craftsman or Snap on or Husky box? I work with a guy who said he was looking for a roll away and I mentioned HF and he said he wouldnt trust it to last over a year...I think he is crazy, its a tool box.. unless its made of tin foil, it should be ok.

Weird mix of brands there.

Better than Craftsman or Husky.

Probably at least 90% of the quality of SnapOn. At maybe 10% the price.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I might have rouble getting even 1 bottom box in the suburban. I have a 1996.

I do have access to a trailer. That probably would be best.

Funny you mentioned taking spouse to use other coupon. I'm doing my best to not be obvious about this purchase! Of course, I'm dropping hints like leaving the screen open with pics of three boxes all lined up. I've also left Craislist ads with pic's of 12,000 snap on boxes for sale. She will be relieved at $700!

The quality of the US General Pro is fantastic. I know two people who purchased the larger bottom cabinet and love it. One of the true finds at HF. That said, be VERY cautious on getting one undamaged. Anything with sheet metal at HF has a very high probability of being dented, dinged, etc. One of my friends had to go back because the first box had a huge dent on top, and my second friend had one with minor damage on the bottom corner that he didn't bother returning. The crate was fine, so they came that way from the factory. Check it before you leave the store for sure, then be proud of the quality box you have.

Actually the 44" boxes are pretty incredible, all things considered, they use 17ga sheet metal, thicker than C-man and Husky and the other store brands, they use double wall construction, and reinforced caster mounts.

Here is an excellent thread that is a very in depth comparison to most other store brands done by MisterMoose here on GJ

The only store brand box I personally saw that I would have prefered was the big Kobalt box that sells for $1900, other than that one box the HF 44" boxes are better quality than any other store brand box I looked at.

I scour every one of those coupons hoping to find one that doesn't say "excluding tool storage"

They put that line in all their coupons about a year ago, after they realized how many tool boxes were purchased for 20% than they wanted to sell them for. Probably from all us at GJ.

As for hauling the bottom box, one will fit in the back of a Lexus RX330. But they are heavy and need 2 people to unload.

Not sure I believe that, I expect most of the things in that store are bought with a 20% off coupon, at least they should be! :wtf:

Does any other jack other than the tiny little 1.5 ton aluminum jack go coupon at HB? I have their 2 ton wide aluminum and it has been great for years and would love to supplement it with a sibling. All I see is the sale $159 price, no coupons though.

Went to the parking lot sale and they had some 21 Gallon Air compressors listed for $110.. It's cheaper than the coupon for $149 they've been unpackaged though... Debating if that'd be a smart move to pick a unit up.

Thanks, OK, came back from HF. Looking for a legit coupon as below please. Wonder if this will lift my F350 also. If not then I will pickup their 4 ton as well but this 2 ton is perfect for my lowered vehicles and love the height reach for trans and other work to get my trans jack in there.

EDIT: Found one for $99.99 (below) , expires 10/2012. I'm gonna pickup a couple myself. Also added the 4 ton coupon.

honestly, if I'm in the market to get a low profile floor jack, i would get the one at Costco by Arcan that is 3.5T for $99. it's got several good reviews and with costco, you pretty much have a lifetime guarantee on it. only reason not to get it is if you don't have a local Costco in your area...

I have this jack and it's great. not as light as the aluminum ones but it is lighter (not cheaper feeling) than others its size.

Wish it had a foot jack and tad more reach for my lifted truck. Nice jack though.
Do have Costco but to be honest will not reup in Oct as I find the place annoying to shop/park after 10 years of membership. Did get a deal on some Chevron 6pk FI cleaner the other day. :3gears:

Has anyone seen a shipping rate coupon, and if so did they include all 50 states?
I was looking at the roller and they want over $400 to ship it.
I shipped an Allison ****** from Florida to Alaska for $900.
Shipping... argh.

Anybody have coupons for either the 5 speed or 12 speed benchtop drill presses? I would prefer the 12 speed, if anyone has both.

I've only read this last page so I don't know if it's been mentioned before. Check your newspapers for HF coupons.

I get the 20% off and freebie coupons every week and use them every time I go into the store.

So, I'm at HF tonight, 2 different stores trying to find the sae flex head wrenches, no place has them, and I'm noticing a lot of empty shelves and spaces, is the customer base expanding too fast or do you think production is slowing, this never used to be a problem.

Please post a 56" cabinet coupon. The one I had expired 2 weeks ago whilst I was looking the other way.
