Has any one ever seen a coupon for the "Front Wheel Bearing Adapters" Item 66829:

It allows you to remove bearings without removing the knuckle if you can remove the axle half shaft on vehicles that use them.

The OTC equivilant is about $900-1000.00. The above tool has a good rep so long as you take it easy on the drive bolt and keep it lubed. Sounds like you can replace it with an OTC bolt and nut for about $45.
The only upgrade to this kit I made was that I ordered the forcing screw & nut for the OTC HUB TAMER part#'s OTC311881 & OTC503052.

The price has been hovering around $100 most of the time on a "sale price" so you can hit it with a 25% or 20% coupon, droping it to $75-80.00, but if there's a better coupon out there to be had, I can't find it.

I got mine for around $69 with a coupon last summer. I think it was an Inside Track Club coupon.

See there is a $179 coupon for the 6ft portable scaffold. Anyone have the HF scaffold, is it worth the sale price? I don't know how the construction quality compares to other brands of same type scaffold.

Companies aren't always thrilled with the idea of passing coupons and deals onto other consumers. Many times they target their ads. For example if they are trying to improve their market share in motorcycle owners etc. they would put the best coupons for a cycle lift or stand in a cycle periodical, hoping to entice them to come in. If that gets passed on to somebody else who was planning on buying the lift anyway they would lose the difference in sale between the normal or lesser coupon and the cycle mag coupon. Haven't you ever wondered why different coupons have different sale prices for identical items?

It also screws up their tracking systems a bit. Business is all about data. I would imagine that with each unique code (even for the same item and price) they track the usage. So if 90 people use a coupon code from Podiatrist Monthly their data might suggest that placing their ads in that magazine makes sense. In reality though maybe only 1 guy reads that magazine and he just posted the coupon in a web thread like this. Often times the fine print on the bottom of a coupon states that it cannot be distributed (HF says "Non-transferable"). That is essentially what we are doing in this thread.

If they wanted to restrict their coupons, they easily could. Could be a number limit, region limit, etc., etc. What they do is try to get people in with "great deals" and hope people buy other things while they are there. Thats why you can find multiple different prices on the same part, depending on where the coupon is published. I have bought items twice at what I thought were good prices, just to turn around and return them because I found a better priced coupon.

The bottom line is they still make money on their coupon prices and they are happy to oblige because they sell high volumes.

Every now and then it does work out though. For example the HVLP sprayer kit can't be purchased with a % off coupon since it contains a compressor. The April coupons have it at $99.99 instead of the $119.99 on the website. I think the torque sticks are similar in that the ITC is always lower than a 20% would get you.

The ITC is one of those things that you have to make a judgement call; some stores require it for you to use the ITC coupons, others may let it slide. Depending on what items are normally on sale outside the ITC, you may get what you need without it. Other things only go on sale through ITC, and I have seen some of the bigger items on sale there for better than 25% off.

On the other hand, it's usually smaller stuff. It's usually at or below 25% on medium-bigger items, and especially the items that are most worthwhile like the impact wrenches, scan/camera type electronics that aren't half bad, that sort of thing. So take a look at the ITC coupons for a few months, the store will give you 'sample' flyer that you cant use, or you can find them in the slickdeals thread. If you can see saving $20 with them over what you'd save with the regular coupons, ITC is worth it. If not, don't get it. Really it's that simple.
