5 In. Multi-Purpose Vise Central Forge - Item#67415

What garage would be complete without a vise? This was a challenge. Manuel states 1/2" lug or hex bolts. I got carriage bolts, but didn't make that much of a difference since the holes are less than 1/2". It took an arsenal of all my tools to install this vise.

Yes, it took me 1-1/2 hour to bolt it to my table!!!!

5 In. Multi-Purpose Vise 01
5 In. Multi-Purpose Vise 02

Also have link for 25% off sheet for 09-12-2013.

Since the topic of this thread is about HF coupons, don't you all think we should keep all replies just to that? Product review videos should go in the General Tools section, for example.

I don't know if anyone had posted this yet, but here are a couple. Does anyone have this impact? Is it any good? I need one for occasional use.

I just bought that impact yesterday with the same coupon. It has great reviews, and my father is a retired professional desiel mechanic. He was visiting with his friends the other day and they said all of the new hires have bought them after one of them had been using it for over a year with no issues. This is in the coal mines and oil fields of Wyoming. My dad has been a "Snap On man" for over sixty years and has recently started trying some HF tools for home use. He assured me I would be happy with this model for use on the farm. I'll let you know.

jamesbumdaddy - what are the rules for that 25% off? Can't read the fine print. Is that for any single item? I am wondering if I could use it 1 day and go back the next day to use it again. Would that be possible?

Valid through 5/28, one coupon/day for 1 item, usual items excluded.

they say it must be an original coupon but my store takes copies.

Respectfully, no.

As long as the reviews/videos are about HF tools I see no problem. Most of the replies are pertinent to the coupons being discussed and very important for some to make informed decisions about their purchases.

I have lurked here for a while and enjoyed the coupons. Some of the reviews I watch, some I don't. I do however, appreciate the effort that goes into everybodies posts.

Reviews are what "The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread..." is for.

So long as it doesn't get too off-topic, for example

guy 1. does anyone have coupon for x
guy 2. you don't want x, get y. x broke on the first day
guy 3. here is a coupon for y

I think that would be helpful to keep in the same thread. straight reviews, yes they should be put in the right place.

I would prefer that actually. Until recently the thread was primarily run with a ask, reply type of system where a guy would ask for a coupon and those of us with access to a lot would look through what we had and post if we had it. Reviews or should I buy etc. was posted on the PASS/FAIL thread in tools. This tended to make the coupons on the thread be more compacted and therefore easier to find. It also tended to not clutter up the thread with coupons that nobody really wanted (i.e. save $.50 on a $2.99 item).

If you are talking about the most recent post

25% off sheet for 09-12-2013.
PDF
JPEG

They expire 09-12-2013.

Same exclusions as the 20% off. Cannot be used with other discount, coupon, gift card (to purchase gift cards), (to purchase) Inside Track Club membership, (to purchase) extended service plans or on any of the following: compressors, generators, tool storage, or charts, welders, floor jacks, Towable Ride-On trencher (Item 65162), open box items, in-store even or parking lot sale items.

Limit one coupon per customer per day.

If you are very friendly with your local HF store like me, I do two different transaction or just walk out the door and walk back in (you become a new customer). You can always come back the next day. If you really want to go extreme hit all HF store in your market using the same Q (mainly the 25% off) at each store. If you do it that way, don't know how HF can enforce one coupon per customer per day? Another way is to take the whole family, friends, girl friend or girl friends, and use them to purchase whatever you can with the Q.

Thanks for that James. Yeah I'm always nice to them so I might try to just use a couple when I visit my local HF. Yeah I don't see how they enforce that unless the person at the checkout hates you or is really just a douche. I really wish that I could use this on a tool cabinet though.

Try using the "search this tread" function. I have noticed more activity recently. When I first saw this thread it was dead. Very few post and fewer replies. You also might want to check in more frequently since the pages are turning faster.

Well, you all who frequent this thread need to let me know how you want things. I received a PM about cleaning things up in here along the lines of what I described. But if a majority of you don't want to separate the coupons from the videos and reviews, then I suppose that will guide my actions.

I don't use this thread but am happy to moderate it for the best user experience for you all.

My opinion would be leave the reviews to the pass fail thread
unless some one asks when they ask for a coupon.
As far as coupons go I say post em if you got em and
they havent been posted or you have one with a
better exp date or price. On that note Im sure the pm was about
James, Hes trying to get some views and maybe be helpful that said
when he does post the videos he posts coupons with it so... IDK
if that should be allowed or not.

If you would check the thread before your messianic arrival you would have noticed that I am not a coupon user, but a provider. If memory serves I have asked for one coupon (which no one was able to produce).

Prior to the paradigm shift of this thread about 4 to 8 guys would check the thread and respond to any requests we could. We didn't need the coupons. We already had them.

What I have seen happen lately is that fewer people are posting coupons but posting them more often. I have also noticed that most of the previous guys have stopped bothering with the thread because it isn't worth their effort to read through all the reviews and **** if their only motivation is internal. Is either way of the thread functioning bad? Not really. I believe what Bull is asking about (in response to his PM) is which way the community wants the thread to be run.

Personally, I think that the post if you've got em and review and converse idea of the thread makes the thread less valuable as it becomes significantly more difficult to find a request someone has for a coupon (which was, I believe, the previous intent of the thread).

There are two methodologies to couponing: Method 1 involves scouring all the coupons possible and basing purchases on what you can get for what price; method 2 is to know what you already want and then seek out a coupon to reduce the price of it. I'm a method 2 fan.

In my humble opinion, the coupon thread should just be for coupons. There's a rediculously long pass fail thread that discussess all the pros and cons of certain HF tools. I don't think this is that section. Again, that's just me, and I might be in the minority.

I have nothing against anyone, but why not have a seperate video review thread. You could still post the coupons to this thread, just link the video to this thread with the coupons. That way this thread would be a bit more concice, and the coupons would be easier to find.

if we were being absolutely strict then this thread should have no videos or reviews of any kind. just ask & response. if thats what everyone wants thats fine, im more on the supply side of the coupons most of the time, though i do appreciate others posting some i may not have.

i cant promise i wont provide advice or anecdotal discussion on the items being asked about. every month the 12 ton press has a coupon and every month the 20 ton press is a better choice. that kind of advice is at least as helpful as the coupon itself.

Coupons in the COUPON thread, reviews in the pass/fail thread. I appreciate the reviews but lets put them in the right spot. I'm probably guilty of it myself.

I am in full agreement that this thread should be cleaned up, and just stick with posts of coupons being requested, or coupons being provided.

Well, I started a new Harbor Freight Coupon Review Thread.

I realize that members who are used to how things have been want it to stay that way. I can respect that.

I also feel that some of the newer members like myself and some older members would like to do more with this thread, so I created a new thread just for that. Also, I know that there are many non-members who frequent the thread who don't want to join or post, but do however enjoy reading or observing and using the coupons posted.

So, I hope this resolves the confusion and rift here.

Happy Shopping!!!!

Yes I would like to see only coupons in this thread or people requesting a specific coupon their looking for going thru the pages and pages of comments not referring to coupons (Like this one) is a waste of this thread.

Hi Guys,

I am pretty new to this forum myself. I have both posted q's and used q's from the thread. It's a great place to come and see if there is a possible discount on an item I may be looking for.

In my opinion, possibly an entire written review on an item here in this thread may not be appropriate, but making mention about a link to a review or a link to a video you shot abut an item that you are posting a q for or someone is requesting a q for is just being "neighborly" and I believe in the spirit social interactive forums.

Anyway, enough said. Back to clipping....
