Just found this on SD. $299 for this one is a great deal. I have to decide between the 26" toolbox and the 44" one on sale this weekend for $349. Any opinions?

The 44" is 349 this weekend, not 449. I'm planning on picking up the 44.

If you have the floorspace for the wider box, I don't think there is any reason not to buy it. That way in a year (or two, or 6 months depending on your tool buying habits) you can pick the top box up for the 44 and have even more storage without sacrificing any more floor space.

That's my plan anyway, YMMV.

I bought simple black air stem covers for my car. $1.95 they were machined and looked High tech? Got home and went to install, one was unfinished and had no treads. So I returned and got a complete set of four. One week later I noticed all the Black paint was gone and there were the most ugly brass air stem covers. Harbor Freight ***** ! Not made in the USA. I know what do you expect for $1.95 . Well perfection.

I just bought a 44" unit and love it! The wife and I discussed it and she was like, "sure, no problem...whatever you want". Translated, that means buy it now and I'll pay later when she wants something for the kitchen. Not a problem, she has a kick *** kitchen so I get to buy a lot of stuff I want too.

Anyhow....we walk in to look at the actual unit. She's like THIS is what you're buying!? I smile and nod. Then add and I'm building my bench to accept a 2nd one so if you need an idea for Christmas. :)

They had the 26" and 56" units next to the 44" ones. For me, the 44" works. I have a good layout to work with, plus I have a 26" bottom and top and I'm already out of space and don't have a large tool collection.

I'm like a fat kid in a candy store right now. :lol_hitti

Anyhow....go big or go home....44" all the way.

PS - I thought about the 56" but I prefer the depth of the 44" drawers.

I picked up the 26" cabinet today as well. It took me 30 minutes in the store to decide between this one and the 44" one. I made a bunch of measurements to compare the dimensions for all of the drawers and believe it or not, the 26" one actually has slightly more room (cubic inches) than the 44" one. I decided to go with the 26" for this reason and the fact that it takes up less space. I realize the 44" is rated for more weight capacity but I don't think that will be a problem for the tools that I have.

I picked up the 44" base last month for 369.00. Today I went in and bought the 44" top with a coupon for 269.00 and got 20.00 refunded on the base because they're on sale for 349.00 right now. It will take me quite a while to outgrow this setup.

Got the bottom cabinet put together yesterday and then went to pull the top cabinet out of the box but it is severely dented, so bad the paint is chipped off on the top corner. Bummer. Back to the store tomorrow to get a replacement....

I picked up a 44" this morning from the local HF. I tried to swing an extra discount with a coupon but it of course did not apply to toolboxes. They were very friendly at the store and even assisted in loading it up in our vehicle.

For anyone who is wondering, it fits snugly into a Jeep Cherokee; once again she proves to be an awesome little truck.

Unloading was as easy as pulling it out of the back and tilting it downward onto the wheels as it came out. Looks great and everything (casters included) appeared to be in top-form.

Now to come up with an organization plan and start loading up my tools. She'll stay a roller for now until I'm ready for something Jack Olsen-like that incorporates a nice benchtop.

i also bought the 44 this weekend. i also have the rolling tool cabinet. i have to say, i think the rolling cabinet is the way to go. i should have bought another one.

the 44 is nice, but i dont like the shallow drawers. wish it had more deep drawers. also the drawers on the tool cabinet are way smoother.

overall, the 44 is nice, but i would have bought another cabinet if i did it over again.

When you say rolling cabinet, are you referring to the 26" combo?

OK, that's it. I'm selling both of my 5-drawer carts and getting a 44" to replace them  Both of my carts are packed and I'm out of room in them, and my big MAC box...

Wait

That just means I will need to buy more tools to fill up the 44"...

Dammit. I can't win

Thanks for the 44" coupon ATC. I was hoping this would be one of their black Friday deals but looks like $359 is going to be the lowest it goes for awhile.

I needed the links again and couldn't find them so I'll repost them for everyone...

Okay,

Take a look at the three links in the first quote. I had to go back to about page 100 to find them but those three links have the most recent versions of the coupons and apparently HF just updates the page all the time.
