What I wonder is if the coupon is really legit or if someone just made it up. I have no issues using it if it really was a coupon that did not have an expiration date and no exclusions. But anyone can photoshop anything this day and age.

Did some Googling and what I found is that this coupon originated in 2006 and was supposed to expire April 19 2006. However there is no expiration date on it and only one site mentioned Apr 19 2006 expiration date. From what people were saying on other forums cashiers used to take this coupons even without managers override in late 2006.

The % off coupons don't work on that item. Not to say you can't sweet-talk it, but that's very rare.

To test if a coupon works, add the item to your cart and punch in the coupon code.

This is in direct contradiction to what another fellow said in the HF Pass/Thread thread where I first asked the question. Based on the reading of the coupon, I can see it going both ways depending on whoever is reading it. The welding cabinet is not a tool chest or tool cart. HF themselves are calling it a "welding cabinet," which is not listed among the exclusions on the coupon.

Who knows what HF really intends with this one?

Regarding the 29 gal. compessor - anyone have any feedback on the quality / reliability of that unit. Reviews on the HF site seem pretty good, but I've never liked anything electrical from HF.
Have been considering a similar Craftsman Pro 27 gal. unit but of course its a lot more $$$.

That is correct. I was thinking it was about 10 years old. Used to have the real thing and used color copies of it a few times; last time about 3 years ago and got the same hassles / manager overrides discussed above. Nobody works there long enough to remember them. This was before Harbor Freight realized they needed to add expiration dates and all the limitations on items.

I was wondering if it was possible to make two different sections for the free items? One for free items that require a purchase and one without? I think there are some overlap of items. For example, I have a coupon for a free tarp without purchase. The coupon on the site has the same tarp but requires purchase. Of course, I think without purchase is ideal because....well....you don't have to buy anything.

If you want to know what HF intends, add the item to your cart on their site and try to apply the coupon code to it. If it works it works. If it doesn't work, you might get lucky in store if the manager will over ride the restriction.

Edit:
I just tried it and got this message: "The item is excluded from certain coupon offers. Please check the coupon for details."

That's with the 25% or 20%.

Does the 2 ton Low Profile/Long Reach Steel Heavy Duty Floor Jack (Item#68050) ever get a coupon. Reg price is $230, on sale for $140, but most of the others are under $100 with sale or coupon

There was a coupon a year ago that brought the price down to 109. I am waiting for the coupon to resurface as well.

I just picked up this 50' reel at HF for $69.99 with the coupon code shown.

Edit:

Now I'm going back to get $10.00 more off.

You and rocket appear to be correct, which is unfortunate for me.

A quick review of the net reveals that many folks have used coupons on that cart, but as someone said they might have realized that this is one of their "gems" and that it will sell at a higher price.

The closest HF is a 35 minute drive, which is just a bit much for me to make and hope they manager will honor a coupon. I don't like trying to convince people to give me deals, anyway. Feels like begging.

Guess I'll just sack up and pay the $169.

I just added a search/filter box on my site, you can find stuff a bit easier now. You can also link directly to a search, I'm working on making the ability to link directly to the different coupon type as well.

check it out: http://www.hfqpdb.com/?filter=flashlight after the page loads, change the 'flashlight' in the filter input (not the url) to something else, like magnet

Awsome job Leftyz...I just sent myself a text and now I have access to all the HF free items at my fingertips[emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

I successfully used the 20% off any single item coupon yesterday buying the 29 gallon air compressor I was searching for previously in this thread. The cashier knows me by face, as I've been visiting the local HF quite a few times lately for little air tools and fittings, ect. The cashier was cool about the 20% off the compressor after reading the fine print as it did not specifically say it cannot be used on compressors like the typical 20% and 25% off coupons, but of course the bar code didn't work. Since there's no expiration date either, he called his manager up to override it and I thought I'd be home free with a $285 belt driven compressor

The store manager accused me of photo-shopping the fine print and bar code into the coupon and that I cut out the expiration date and exclusions. After showing her the full coupon online was exactly what I brought to her and is exactly the same picture I printed off (which I've also attached to this post), she gave in and let it slide. I made sure to be respectful and remain calm the whole time during her accusations, where blowing up and making a big fuss probably would have closed the door on me right then and there. Use this valuable coupon if you're good at haggling prices and can do so in a respectful manner. It'll probably work. Just stand your ground, have other purchases lined up so they know you're a good customer and just reiterate that this is a coupon HF gave out, and the fine print has no expiration date nor any exclusions. Keep it simple. No expiration date, no exclusions. 20% off. Again, be respectful.

N00b to GJ here...

I gotta give a BIG "THANK YOU" for that...

I successfully used that magical 20% off for the 44" chest, and 44" roller cabinet, 2nd one being bought by a friend-in-tow for me.

Needless to say, they had no idea how to process it, kept asking me where I got it, etc... At least I was not accused of photoshopping.

We went in the store at 7:30pm with 8:00pm closing, so one thing that helped get a nice conversation going was we helped them bring the stuff down in the back, as there was no forklift-capable person in the store.

However, the chest is damaged, so I will need to swap it out tomorrow.

What a deal - $389.99 - 20% = $311.99, and $289.99 - 20% = $231.99.

Paid $586.33 out the door, including a $3.99 power strip and tax.

Considering I was about to drop $498+tax at Home Depot for their 41" husky 2-cabinet deal, this is WAY better!!!

I thought about it some and decided against having two different sections, instead what I've done is added a No Purchase Required (NPR) field that I put above expiration date in the qualifications for best coupon for an item.

Now if you go and upload your free tarp coupon, even if it has a closer expiration date than the existing coupon, your new coupon will be shown (until it expires, then it will revert to the existing coupon). I've also added the acronym NPR to the end of each coupon description where No Purchase is necessary. With the new filter I added, this makes it simple to find all of the NPR coupons.

DOH, I just bought it literally a few days ago for $169. Oh well....

I believe $149 was also the black Friday price for the 5 drawer cart.

That code certainly does work on their website. Know what else? Ground shipping for that item is only $7. That might make more sense than me burning an hour and a half to go down there and back. Wouldn't need to wonder if the folks would accept just a code verbally presented to them.

$7 is pretty cheap to ship an 80lb box!

Anyone ever seen a coupon for the Welding Cabinet item#61705?

2hd1ilh.jpg

Circular #3029, being given out in stores now, shows that welding cabinet will be $149 on 1/9/2015 - 1/11/2015, no coupon required. I got the circular last night when I got the 44" Tool cabinet set. Circular is titled "January Blowout Sale"

I pulled the trigger on the welding cart @149 with the coupon code and $7 shipping. Also used today's 25% coupon on a 3-piece wobble impact extension set. Thanks for that coupon code and saving me $20.

I have a trailer to pick up the 44" wide tool chest:

http://www.harborfreight.com/44-in-13-drawer-glossy-red-industrial-roller-cabinet-68784.html

Will they help me load it onto my trailer or am I on my own?

My Harbor Frieght is about 30 minutes each way & I am happy to drive over to save the $100 on shipping costs but I dont think I can get it on the trailer myself.

When I bought a heavy item at tractor supply, they used a machine to load it on the trailer for me. Any ideas on HF?

Thanks,
Rich

When I purchased the 44" tool chest, my local harbor freight helped me load it. My problem was when I got home, I didn't have anyone to help me unload it. Thankfully a neighbor saw me struggling and helped me get it to the ground.
